A couple of years ago we were invited to a Bar-B-Que at a Friends Sheep Farm and they celebrate the 4th of July every day... Have a wonderful day but be safe...

Oh and btw, HFF!!!

Hope all of you that celebrate had a great 4th of July!

The Tillamook Baby Loaf custom 1966 VW Van joined this years parade for the first time. (The Oregon license plate reads: YUM 2. There are seven of these custom vans in the fleet, YUM 1, YUM 2, ... YUM 7. ) Granddaugher Jasmine and fellow Girl Scouts pose with theTillamook Baby Loaf. Both were in the same staging area before the Hillsboro Fourth of July Parade.

From the blog for 7 4 2012:

"Now when we drive these buses around, we are pretty used to cars coming up in our rear view mirrors at a pace much quicker than our own - due to the fact that they only go around 40 mph. Dandy Andy was the first to notice, there was a police car moving at a quicker than normal pace, pulling up behind us in our rear view mirror. He pointed it out to me and was curious if it seemed unusual how quickly the police officer was gaining on us. It definitely was, but I didn’t think much of it. After all, we’re driving a little orange bus that couldn’t speed, even if it wanted to! What could a cop possibly want with us? As soon as I finished my thought, we heard a noise come from behind us. It’s the police car’s loud speaker. He barks at us “You Oregonians need to pull over, NOW!”. (See the full story here www.tillamook.com/community/loaflifeblog/category/loaf-lo... )

July 4th 2020 pretty chill...at least until the fireworks started driving the pups mad.

Happy 4th of July to all you Americans out there! (US of A)

Built for Flickr LUGNuts 57th Build Challenge - 'From Mild to Wild' - this challenge takes a model 'Plain Jane' from last moth's 56th build challenge and changes it into something a bit wilder. In this case I have taken my lego miniland scale 1956 Oldsmobile 88 Holiday Hardtop Coupe and turned it into the 'Forth of July Cruiser' for, well, the Forth of July or 'Independence Day' as it is also called.

An alternate names, for all the Monarchists out there is the 'Insurrection Party Mobile'. I jest of course!

Modifications, in a 'Stars and Stripes' theme, from the standard car include hood (bonnet), roof and trunk (boot) finished in navy blue. The roof features the 5-point star so prevalent on the flags of the United States - though just one. The diagonal feature line on the rear fender is used as a guide for additional red and white striping, also featured in US flags. The car also has modified wheels and tyres in a lower profile.

Still featured is the 'bonnet bird' , from the time when hood mascots reflected the aspiration of sleekness and speed of the era.

And what can be more good old apple pie American, than cruising in a slice of classic Detroit V8 iron?

Unfortunately, though the 1956 Oldsmobile 88 hails from the zenith of Oldsmobile history, the brand is no longer in production. The car though, reminds the world that once upon a time, Detroit was king.

Ronald McDonald ready to participate his 30th Hillsboro Forth of July Parade. His sweet ride is a red Tesla.

Many people work full-time making appearances in the Ronald McDonald costume, visiting children in hospitals, and attending regular events. There are also Ronald McDonald Houses, where parents can stay overnight when visiting sick children in nearby chronic care facilities. Since August 2003, McDonald has been officially styled as the "Chief Happiness Officer" of the McDonald's Corporation. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_McDonald

A clearing storm over Stag Island, Ontario, Canada produces a rainbow that ends at Old Glory. America is truly the land at the end of the rainbow! Happy 4th of July!

On the 4th of July my wife, kids and I went up to Donner lake to watch fireworks. Before the show we had a few hours to kill, so we decided to hike up the Pacific Crest Trail near Sugar Bowl Ski Resort. It's a great hike for all ages. My three year old daughter hiked almost all the way up to the peak overlooking Donner Lake. Luckily there was not much snow on the trail and the weather was perfect. The only problem...Mosquitoes! If you're going up to Tahoe in the near future remember to bring bug spray!

From The American Adventure attraction at Epcot:

Ben Franklin: I may have invented these bifocals I'm wearing,

but I can assure they are not rose-colored. Mr. Twain, the

golden age never was the present age, but with human

liberty we can fulfill the promise and meaning of America.

To everyone a chance, believed Thomas Wolfe, to all people

regardless of their birth, a right to live, to work, to

be themselves, and to become whatever their

visions can combine to make them. This is the promise

of America! Mr. Twain, 'tis easy to see, hard to foresee,

but I foresee the American Adventure to continue a long,

long time!
