RMD Kwikform assisted in rebuliding the Mdeirej Bridge, otherwise known as the Peonix Bridge, the tallest in its region in Lebanon. RMD Kwikform supplied a selection of standard and special formwork items, such as, lightweight Alform aluminium beams, Superslim soldiers, plywood faced panels and specially designed brackets.

Throughout the trip we'll encounter a lot of cleverly-employed concrete. Here, the grain pattern of the formwork (that is, the mold into which the concrete was poured) has been extended even to the top surface of the steps - where normally you wouldn't really need formwork anyway, since concrete is not really going to slosh up out of place before it sets. The spinoff benefit is that you get something relatively slip-proofed - and I say relatively because I slipped on it anyway. Also, the aesthetic itself is somewhat nice. Elsewhere on the grounds of the Velodrome were some columns whose exteriors seemed to have been formed with the tracks of automobile tires.

The Velodrome itself, by the way, is a fairly bad building and was not photographed by me. The bleak weather wasn't doing it any favors, of course. The basic idea was to sink a sports facility below the ground - so you come up the big stadium entrance stairs and find yourself on a level meadow, no building to be seen! Dow was really annoyed by this conceptually ("The goal was to make the building disappear. Why you would ever want to do that...."); I don't mind the idea, but in execution it suffers considerably by the surroundings. All around the "meadow" are increasingly ominous, decaying East German housing projects, which lend the entire thing a postapocalyptic "Come To Daddy" quality. Also, the roof of the building isn't planted, so it doesn't really disappear so much; meanwhile, though, the actual entrance to the thing is accessed from off to the side of the meadow and down an elevator - so if you were just wandering through the idyllic (?) meadow, you would stumble across the flying saucer stuck in the ground and have no earthly idea what to do with it. Which is sort of what happened with us. Overall: dud. A shame - from our furtive peerings into the windows of the UFO, it seemed like it could be kind of a cool thing inside....nothing but green out of all the windows. Well, gray and green.

Evan has photos showing the bleak landscape and the diagrammatic model, which in the way of such things, seems like such a better thing than what actually got realized.
