Munkaunet

Navnet som kommer av munk og norrønt audn, ødegård forteller at må være ryddet før 1350 men at den ble lagt øde under agrarkrisen i senmiddelalderen. Den har sansynligvis hatt et egennavn tidligere, men dette er gått i glemmeboken under ødetiden. Da gården i middelalderen tilhørte Holm kloster på Munkholmen ble den kalt munkenes aun.

Plassen nevnes for første gang i 1691 da den var festet bort til rådmann Mads Tønder. Fra den gang, og fram til Trondheim kommune tok over gården i 1971, hadde Munkaunet en rekke eiere fra kjøpmenn, en bakermester og toller for å nevne noen. Kommunen solgte stedet i 1999 og de nye eierne satte i stand gården.
