Photographed March 2018 / Mamya-six folding medium format rangefinder camera (Olympus Zuicko 7.5cm/3.5) ILFORD HP5 plus rated ASA 320 developed in PYROCAT-HD (5ml A + 25ml B > 600ml, 7min 20sec @ 20*C). The negative was 'scanned' to SD card in a Reflecta X120 film scanner box unit.The image was processed & finished in Flickr. Comparing this result of scanning this (6cmx6cm) negative with that obtained by scanning the negative with an iPad mini using Film Scanner app (see the album ReflectaX120 v iPad Light Box) we see that there is little to tell them apart and certainly no vastly SIGNIFICANT improvement is obtained in using the Reflecta X120 over the light box/iPad/Film scanner app method in my opinion (although the Reflecta unit is less time consuming and more convenient to use & perhaps SLIGHTLY better resolved). Its a great pity that the manufacturers of this 'Scanner' couldn't have upped the specification somewhat though to be fair it 'does what it says on the box' without hassle & with a minimum of financial outlay.

John Muir: All the wild world is beautiful, and it matters but little where we go, to highlands or lowlands, woods or plains, on the sea or land or down among the crystals of waves or high in a balloon in the sky; through all the climates, hot or cold, storms and calms, everywhere and always we are in God's eternal beauty and love. So universally true is this, the spot where we chance to be always seems the best.
This is Medium format, 35mm and Micro 4/3rd all in one shot!
The image is as shot save for a levels adjustment and a square crop.
Mamiya C33 with Sekor 55mm twin lenses shooting velvia 50 roll film (can't wait to see the result of that) - all mounted on tripod and set at f22
Panasonic GF-1 with Zeiss ZF 25mm lens on adapter - set at f2.8 and hand held above the Mamiya.
What's odd is that the GF-1 is really poor at capturing sun stars with any lens I've tried. So I'm guessing the sunstar here is being made by the Sekor 55mm on the Mamiya and the GF-1 has recorded it merely from the ground glass.
Phew, My head hurts after typing that!
