Taken on a Canon EOS 5D Mark 3 DSLR coupled to a vintage Nikon Nikkor-P 75mm 1:2.8 Bronica Zenza S2/EC 6x6 medium format film lens with a shallow Bronica Extension Tube (c-a) incorporated and using a Bronica ec-tl adapter from www.adrianololli.com. Shot wide-open @ 2.8 and hand-held, with a little fill-flash.

I had shot the sunset in this location with disappointing results....the sunset colors happened about 90 degrees from where I had my camera pointed. I considered leaving my camera set up during the night so I wouldn't have to bother with it in the morning, but this wasn't too far off the Buttermilk Road and while there isn't much traffic at night, I didn't feel that it was a worthwhile risk.
So I got up extra early the next morning before dawn and headed back up. It was COLD. Also a terrible hassle to set up my large format camera in the dark. I managed to position my Jeep so that the headlights would illuminate the foreground a bit, which allowed me to get a general composition. I had to wait till it lightened up but before the sun peaked over the mountains to the east before I could focus and get my filters aligned. I tried using my LED flashlight but it just wasn't strong enough.
For all the trouble I went through to get this photo, when I got my film back from the lab, I was very happy with it and felt that my hard work had paid off.

i had a theme i had to shoot which was "capturing ambient light" and all i could think of was literally catching it and this is what happened haha
however, this is not the photo i'm using for my assignment. i will be posting that on Thursday after i have presented it. so now you can have something to look forward to :)
6x6cm medium format shot on Ilford FP4+ 125ASA developed in Kodak TMax developer and printed on Ilford Multigrade II RC paper, back in the days when I had a darkroom set up at home. I burned the sky in when printing in the darkroom. I digitised the print using an Epson XP-960 flatbed scanner and then processed the resulting TIF file using Cap One Pro 21. I took the photo back in 2002 using a tripod mounted Pentacon Six TL with a Carl Zeiss 50mm f/4 Flektagon wide angle lens and I'm reasonably sure it was somewhere along Glen Mullardoch in the Scottish Highlands.
From the same skiing trip. They are to seperate trees, but I like the shape they made when photographed this way. Tree heart
