Felt Mountain is the debut studio album by English electronic music duo Goldfrapp. It was released on 11 September 2000 by Mute Records. The album takes influence from a variety of music styles such as 1960s pop, cabaret, folk and electronica.

Felt Mountain was generally well received by music critics, and was described as "simultaneously smarmy and seductive, yet elegant and graceful". AllMusic reviewer Heather Phares referred to the album as a "strange and beautiful mix of the romantic, eerie, and world-weary" and named it "one of 2000's most impressive debuts". In 2001, the album was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, an annual music prize awarded for the best British or Irish album from the previous year.

The fourth song, "Pilots", which describes travelers floating in the atmosphere above Earth, was inspired by John Barry's James Bond theme songs. (from Wikipedia)

Happy Anniversary, Felt Mountain!

"Listen to the pouring rain

Listen to it pour,

And with every drop of rain

You know I love you more

Let it rain all night long,

Let my love for you go strong,

As long as we're together

Who cares about the weather?

Listen to the falling rain,

Listen to it fall,

And with every drop of rain,

I can hear you call,

Call my name right out loud,

I can here above the clouds

And I'm here among the puddles,

You and I together huddle."

A classic song: youtu.be/l145cg01O4k

"...T-t-terious, infectious and dangerous

Friends and enemies find us contagerious

And they spread into your system like a virus

Yes the trouble is it kind of makes you anxious

I was lookin' back to see if you were lookin back at me

To see me lookin back at you

I was lookin' back to see if you were lookin back at me

To see me lookin back at you

But if you hurt what's mine

I'll sure as hell retaliate

You can free the world, you can free my mind

Just as long as my baby's safe from harm tonight

You can free the world, you can free my mind

Just as long as my baby's safe from harm tonight"

This song was written in 1991, and it sounds so premonitory for this pandemic age, but in fact, the liner notes to the Blue Lines album, it mention the movie Taxi Driver as an influence, and it's clear that the movie was inspiration for this song's lyrics. The movie stars Robert DeNiro as a paranoid Vietnam vet who drives a taxi at night. He becomes obsessed with saving a child prostitute played by Jodie Foster, and ends up killing some people in his efforts. The spooky atmosphere in this song goes with the theme, as do the lines about protecting a child. From www.songfacts.com/facts/massive-attack/safe-from-harm

"Ne prenons pas l'habitude

Tous les deux de rester loin

Une vie on en a qu'une

Nous ne sommes que deux humains

Nous marchons droit sur la ligne

À la croisée des chemins

Une vie on en a qu'une

De l'amour on en a plein

Plains-toi

Tout près de moi j'écoute

Plains-toi

À mon oreille

Plains-toi

Amor tenemos a manos llenas

Quéjate

Muy cerca de mi, te escucho

Quéjate

En mi oido

Quéjate

Yo sé que te hace sentir mejor

Quéjate

Cuéntame cosas

Quéjate

Espero tu llamada

Quéjate

Yo sé que te hace sentir mejor"

American III: Solitary Man is a studio album by Johnny Cash. It was released on October 17, 2000, by American Recordings. It is the third album in Cash's American series. Between American II: Unchained and American III: Solitary Man, Cash's health declined due to various ailments, and he was even hospitalized for pneumonia, and the illness forced him to curtail his touring. This album contained Cash's response to his illness, typified by a version of Tom Petty's "I Won't Back Down", as well as a version of U2's "One". Changes to Cash's voice due to his health problems are noticeable on most tracks when compared to his most recent preceding albums. Graeme Thomson has characterized "Solitary Man" as an act of emotional preservation. (from Wikipedia).

"Well, I won't back down

No, I won't back down

You can stand me up at the gates of hell

But I won't back down

I'm gonna stand my ground

Won't be turned around

And I'll keep this world from dragging me down

Gonna stand my ground

And I won't back down

Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out

Hey, I will stand my ground

And I won't back down..."

"No man has suffered

Rushing through my brain

Rolling in my heart

Swelling in the wind

The blue has redemption

The tide that never changed

Breaking in my heart

We are born again

I'd climb in under skies so blue it yearns

Hand over hand, carried all the memories

And don't look down in fate or fame

I tumble and glide into the white wide tide

Whirling and whirling

And let the slamming waves decide my fate

Because hope is all I need

And hope breaks on me

And hope breaks on me

And hope breaks on me

And hope breaks on me

The moon and the sun glow

Take me down

The moon and the sun glow

Take me down"

Aether (classical element), the material supposed to fill the region of the universe above the terrestrial sphere

Aether (mythology) was the personification of the "upper sky", space and heaven, in Greek mythology

Éter: palabra que proviene del latín æthēr y ésta del griego αἰθήρ (aithēr), 'cielo', 'firmamento', 'el aire más puro de las montañas' , que deriva de la raíz indoeuropea *aydh- ‘arder, fuego’.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day is an international memorial day on January 27th commemorating the tragedy of the Holocaust that occurred during the Second World War. It commemorates the genocide that resulted in the deaths of 6 million Jews and 11 million others, by the Nazi regime and its collaborators. It was designated by the United Nations General Assembly resolution 60/7 on 1 November 2005 during the 42nd plenary session. The resolution came after a special session was held earlier that year on 24 January 2005 during which the United Nations General Assembly marked the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camps and the end of the Holocaust.

On 27 January 1945, Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration and death camp, was liberated by the Red Army.

"For ever let this place be a cry of despair and a warning to humanity, where the nazis murdered about one and a half million men, women and children, mainly jews from various countries of Europe Auschwitz-Birkenau 1940 - 1945."

Auschwitz-Birkenau 1940 - 1945".
