On dit que seules les montagnes ne se rencontrent pas. On n'a jamais rien dit de cela pour les fourchettes de ma cuisine où les unes en plastique côtoient sans problème les autres en métal. #Macro #MacroMondays #Forks
Forks, taken on my bathroom mirror in indirect light. Contrast boosted in post-processing.
Kinda like the effect, was trying to get one of those perfectly black background shots that people normally photograph frogs and things on with their reflections
Photo taken for the Smile on Saturday group's theme "fork(s) reflected in spoon(s)". Looks like an alien bird to me.
sparked off by a discussion on the uses of wearing a webcam (and catcam) and the mention of "ambiguous forks in the trail" to avoid getting lost i suppose, but i was confused for half a second and thought it looked something like this.
This is still one of my favorite people-photos. I don't know why, but it just makes me smile. I guess it's funny because she's a cute gal wearing a mask, holding two mobile phones, wearing a camera, and there is no place else for the fork to go but in her mouth.

Chicago Forks, where two streams about 2 miles from Chicago Lakes come together. Located not too far from Idaho Springs, Colorado and just off of highway 103 on the way up to Mt Evans.
...here's one I prepared earlier! Alternate title "Ghost in the fork"
Kinda sad I don't have time to attack this theme properly -would of been ideal for the next installment of my classic movies scene series, which could of been "Gone with the fork"....
I liked this picture since when you look at the cutlery, it looks shiny. Looking closer reveals it's flaws.

This afternoon I've been reading Cesariny, a surrealist poet. I like him a lot and laughed to death with some of his poems. Then I felt like trying some stupid things with my camera. The kitchen was my studio. This is not a surrealistic image, but I'm not an artist, sorry.

My wife collects recipes from friends and relatives. Each is recorded on an index card. The card is then propped up in this simple device so it can be more easily read. Our Daughter made this as a Mother’s Day gift while in first or second grade. It’s a cap from an aerosol can half filled with Play Dough having some artificial flowers and ribbon arranged around the plastic fork embedded in the Play Dough. The fork has been replaced more than once and the ribbon and flowers are faded and ragged but the thing is as useful as it ever was. Thank you for any views, likes and comments. HMM!! See the fork in context here
This photograph, which comes to you by courtesy of the letter F, is my sixth picture for the February Alphabet Fun: 2020 group.
Here is a little of the color I found hiking West Fork on Friday. It's still pretty sporadic, I'm going to try again this coming weekend. I also plan on another trip to the Grand Canyon. Not IN the Canyon, just to the Canyon! Actually, I was thinking of maybe going down to the 3 mile rest stop and back just to see if it was really that tough, or if it was because I had already hiked 14 miles. Or I might just sit at the Bright Angel Trailhead and laugh and point at people.
Next weekend will be my last in Arizona, at least for awhile. I'm heading home to Arkansas for a visit.
I took my little dog Macy for a short hike yesterday. She is SO out of shape. After about 1/2 mile on flat ground, she looked like I did coming up the Grand Canyon. I carried her most of the way back. She didn't mind at all. I think if she'd had her summer haircut she would have done a lot better.
Metallica Tuesday! I'm getting amped.

A few days ago I photographed South Fork Tieton Falls using several different shutter speeds and from a couple of slightly different angles. Light was wrong for good photos. Most of the waterfall was in the shade but some parts of the photo are in the bright sun. I used slow shutter speeds on some of the photos to blur the water. IMG_8476
A rare kitchen close up for me and the shadows of our 5 kitchen lights seemed to create a good effect.
Grand Forks sees its share of GE's but it is still an EMD stronghold with lots of SD75's, the occasional SD60M, and oodles of GP's for the many locals. Also some SD40-2's for yard switching and occasional local work. We see many CN units from trains run through jointly from Winnipeg too, often those are SD75's as well.
