This is a bridle path, one of many such skirting through Mahabaleshwar.
Most of these were developed by the British as actual pathways for horse and carriage. Today with the advent of tar roads, these paths are used mostly by villagers as short cuts or by nature lovers who enjoy walking through forests.
Regrettably, locals and tourists also use these trails as boozing spots, leaving behind broken alcohol bottles and plastic picnic rubbish.

Last little hike of the summer and probably of the year. I had planned another route but on this beautiful sunny day, there were a lot of cars parked where I wanted to be. Hoping that this nature bath will invigorate my spirits a little.
Dernière petite randonnée de l'été et sûrement de l'année. J'avais prévu un autre parcours mais en cette belle journée ensoleillée, il y avait énormément de voitures garées où je voulais me mettre.
En espérant que ce bain de nature me revigore un peu le moral.

A short hike to boost my morale, which is currently at its lowest. It's always a pleasure to hike in a loincloth, especially when I don't meet anyone, but unfortunately the feeling of well-being afterwards isn't what it used to be.
Une petite randonnée pour améliorer mon moral qui est au plus bas en ce moment. C'est toujours un plaisir de randonner en pagne, surtout quand je ne rencontre personne, mais malheureusement l'effet bien être après coup n'est plus comme avant.

Here's a typical view down one of the paths through the forest at Wave Farm.
The forest paths lead up a mild incline then follow along at roughly the same elevation before leading back down the hill. At the higher elevations, the trees are short pines of the sort visible in this picture. Further down the hill the trees are taller.
The leaf-strewn path caught my eye as it snaked off into autumn woodland. Long lenses are fantastic for woodland photography. My f/2.8 70-200mm zoom is a heavy beast of a lens but I would be very reluctant to part with it as its one of the sharpest lenses in my collection and it has served me well over more than a dozen years.
This photo was captured in early April in the Northern Part of the island of Zealand in Eastern Denmark.
