Shot using a 4 Stop ND Filter, a 2 Stop Soft Graduated ND to reduce exposure from the sky and a Circular Polariser to reduce glare from the water.

This is a dramatic fall, situated near Settle in the Yorkshire Dales, that is very hard to capture due to the darkness in the ravine. My original image of this Force was very dark and gloomy, but the Orton effect helped to relieve the hard shadows and has added colour and depth to this shot.
TORUN, Poland - Task Force Saber, under the command of 4th Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, U.S. Army, drive through Torun, Poland June 8, 2016 to conduct a maneuver called ‘forward passage of lines’ in which they pass through an area previously secured and advance toward a fictitious adversary during Anaconda 16. Exercise Anaconda 16 is a Polish-led, joint, multinational exercise taking place in Poland from June 7-17. The exercise involves more than 25, 000 participants from 24 nations. The 2CR participated in the event while conducting Dragoon Ride II, a 2200 km road march from Rose Barracks, Vilseck, Germany to Tapa, Estonia. The convoy will drive through Poland, Lithuania and Latvia to reach their destination where they will conduct multinational tactical training exercises and participate in cultural events.

Lately for some odd reason our house has suddenly become a haven for mice (which I find funny having three cats) today it was my turn to strike back against evil silverware drawer poop-bandits. I place a trap in the junk drawer of our kitchen with a piece of cheese on it. came back awhile later and the cheese was gone but no mouse. i couldn't help but remember those old saturday morning cartoons where the mouse uses a stick to push the cheese off the trap staying far away from harms reach. so I changed tactics Peanut Butter! (I would like to see you push peanut butter off the trap with you stick, mister speedy gonzales). sure enough four hours later he was caught in the trap . unfortunatly the trap i bought is supposed to be safe around pets and it didn't kill him so i released him two blocks down the street like i did with mouse five.
Scaleber Force is convenienly situated by the road side (Settle to Airton) so nobody needs walk more than a few yards to view the waterfall. As with many waterfalls in the Yorkshire Dales its a surrounded by a small copse. The drop on the waterfall is around 20 feet. The best option to include the waterfall with a decert walk is from Malham Tarn to Settle via Langscar Gate then Stockdale Lane rather than the usual route past Attermire Scar.

The Royal Air Force Bomber Command Memorial is a memorial, commemorating the aircrews of Royal Air Force Bomber Command who embarked on missions during the Second World War. The memorial was built to mark the sacrifice of 55,573 aircrew who flew with the Royal Air Force in World War II.
Liam O'Connor designed the memorial which is built of Portland stone and features a bronze sculpture of seven aircrew, designed by the sculptor Philip Jackson to look as though they have just returned from a bombing mission.
Queen Elizabeth II officially opened the memorial on 28 June 2012

This is a (not very) hidden character in Shining Force for the Genesis. He's a little squid like creature that hatches from an egg. He's very weak when you first get him, being a newborn squid thing and all, but he grows up to be a real killer if you devote some time and attention to him.

The "Cloud Gate" sculpture by Anish Kapoor is one of the most simple-yet-spectacular things I've seen. Here, the reflection of the cityscape in the impacably polished surface (aside from the streaks for water left by the storm that just passed through) looks like Chicago has a protective force field - or is inside a snow globe...

We took BigAl over to Hawes to do a recce for one of the hard walks and decided we would have a mooch and an explore.
As neither of us had been to Hardraw force we decided to go for a meander - you are not allowed to walk behind the waterfall but there are lots of paths to explore, and we were there for about 3/4 hour and could have spent longer.
