A time for ghosts and the memories of forboding which float above us, pulling us under

Looking up the backside of a severe-warned storm out over Lake Winnebago east of Oshkosh, WI. Just prior to this shot I photographed a waterspout dangling from that lowering just left of center. June 15, 2016

I love Gilda and her horns. There's something dark and forboding about her yet she has that pureness to her since she's a sacred creature. I love all these Greek mythological characters they've been introducing. Very cute.

Even on a dark and forboding day, you can't be sure a little of the sun's light wont shine through the blanket of fog that can enshroud the entire Strait of San Francisco. Still, it might be the only sunlight one sees all day, so soak up those rays when you see them, even if you prefer to use your camera to do so.

Thanks for your time and interest!

Dark forboding trees lined this road as I began my journey home. I like how the path was let going through or past this dark a brooding woodlands. Less Tolkien and more dangerious.

A dark and forboding corner in Casemate no 5 at Fort Mifflin in Philadelpia, Pennsylvania.

During the American Revolution, the fort served as a strategic point on the Delaware River, impeding the British supply lines to occupied Philadelphia and enduring a significant siege in 1777. Though ultimately captured, the fort's resistance delayed the British and contributed to their struggles during the winter encampment at Valley Forge.

In contrast, during the Civil War, Fort Mifflin did not see direct combat but functioned as a military prison. It housed Confederate prisoners of war, as well as Union soldiers and civilians.

The lunatic is on the grass

The lunatic is on the grass

Remembering games and daysy chains and laughs

Got to keep the loonies on the path

The lunatic is in the hall

The lunatics are in my hall

The paper holds their folded faces to the floor

And every day the paper boy brings more

And if the dam breaks open many years too soon

And if there is no room upon the hill

And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too

I'll see on the dark side of the moon

The lunatic is in my head Il matto è nella mia testa

The lunatic is in my head Il matto è nella mia testa

You raise the blade, you make the change

You re-arrange me'till i'm sane

You lock the door

And throw away the key

There's someone in my head but it's not me

And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear

You shout and no one seems to hear

And if the band yuor'e in starts playing different tunes

I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

In Fall and Winter, these tangly trees, at the ocean end of Brewster's "Spruce Trail," take on a mythical appearance. Their bare upper branches seem like they could come to life at any moment, writhing, alive and wild like the heads of of Medusae,

Went to Dysart for a change last week. Sky was quite grey and forboding. The tide eventually went out enough to let me get close to the rocks. The orange really stood out against the grey sky.

how much fun it must be to be an art director at a campaign like this... (woran erinnert uns das, oder bin nur ich so...)

Forgot my camera, so I used a cell phone for this one. This spot looked very interesting/mysterious, with the fog and bare trees. I didn't notice at first, but if you look closely at the middle tree (foreground) there's a foreboding head that is completely natural.

Batten down the hatches! I was digging through some old photos a found this interesting one from the Summer, 2011. An incredible storm swept over Chappaquiddick on Martha's Vineyard bringing a dark and foreboding sky and buckets of torrential rain.

It felt like late afternoon as I descended from Thorong La. Still at some 5000m altitude the steep downhill was made more enjoyable by the incredible views of the Himalaya's ahead. More forboding valleys and landscapes which seemed impossible to reach.

Look out from the caves onto the beach and a forboding sky.

I debated between the more formal looking profile and something that more appropriately reflected Bogart's living environment. This time, thankfully, the shadow is much less forboding. Bogart's beloved Raven provided the effect.

It had been a busy day and Jack's new Christmas present had been uttering its usual grunts, whistles and mutterings at his programmable command. The excitment his new companion had delivered had finally sent him into a dream-filled sleep full of shiny white, cutesie robotic figures dancing in synchrony, chanting 'U-huh", "Beep" and "Yeah".

But now, from the dark recess of the young boy's room, came an altogether new sound. A deep, clawing, forboding, digitised growl that was neither machine nor human. It built in all too steady increments until the unearthly sound filled the boy's mind. As he stirred from his comfort he forced open his eyes, unadjusted as they were to the dim light in the room, in order to discern from where the shrill, cybernetic roar was coming.

The source of his awakening was to be the last object he would ever see. The searing heat from the initial blast of plasma immediately scorched his retina - forever imprinting the image of friend turned foe. The bolts of light pierced first the darkness, then the curtains which dissolved in unison to the floor. Fragments of burning material ignited the youngster's beloved Buzz Lightyear duvet cover which began to recede into ash.
