Mediterranean Maza sampler appetizer at Dishdash restaurant in Sunnyvale CA. This was excellent! Even though we also liked the entrees, we said that next time we might just order a larger sampler (you can get it for up to 6 people). Their lentil soup (not shown here) was also extremely amazing. In fact, the way we found this restaurant was by asking people on the street where to go. Two girls told us they were on their way to Dishdash, and one of them said she was from Seattle, but comes here to eat the lentil soup. Yes, it is really that good. Hover over the portions with the mouse to see what everything is (descriptions from the Dishdash website, so don't complain to me about the spelling).

I don’t mind multiples of anything much, the trays and empty boxes YES, but not the others stuff. I just feel like this go around the distribution was off! I have to check but I feel like series one I bought less and got more to where I was only missing about 15. I feel like this series I’m missing a lot after buying a lot!

5 Surprise: Mini Brands Foodie "Subway/Soup & Sandwich" Fast Food Mystery Capsule (Zuru)

Recipe from Ottolenghi's Jerusalem cookbook.

So I woke up this morning to bright blue skies and mild weather. I was still a little drunk from last night's shenanigans yes, but I was still able to enjoy the view from my place. Staring at the beautiful Canadian morning landscape, it dawned on me. It came to me that this days is going to be awesome. And you know why? I'll tell you why. Because today, is my birthday.

That's right. Today, you're favorite weird and eccentric photo friend is another year older.

Yay getting older sucks. But you know what doesn't suck. Cake. Better yet, birthday cheesecake. No, no, even better. Chocolate brownie cheesecake with caramel sauce. Mmm diabetes. Lol.

Part of a pre-birthday celebration, I was able to enjoy this delicious cake with my fellow work mates. And today promises to be just as amazing as this cheesecake looks. Who knows what the day will bring. And that's the fun of it. Maybe I'll get myself a birthday clown. Or, a pony. Hmmm. I wonder if there's a half clown//half pony species out there. Man that would be awesome. Would also save some money to parents throwing children birthday parties right. Think I'll go look for one of those today.

Anyway, so yeah, I'm old now. And it sucks. But with everything that I've been through, I find it pretty satisfying that I'm still here. Not only that, but that I'm doing something I've never done before. Live an established life in a new country. So who knows. Next year I'll probably be living in Paris, or Greenland...or Space. How cool would that be right?

Thank you to the people who have influenced my life and thank you to those who have celebrated with me this day and yesterday. And thank you booze. Because, wine, right. Lol.

It's a rainy Sunday morning, and I'm sitting out here on Richard's patio drinking some hot chocolate, enjoying the sound of falling rain drops, and laughing like a lunatic. People passing by, along with Steph, must have thought I was having some sort of attack.

Hot chocolate always reminds me of when Jessie, my wife, was alive. She use to hate, seriously have a disdain when someone abbreviated the name into "HoCho." I use to think she very unusual, having this annoyance for a small word. Hell, I even use to tease her with it. She would shriek and cover her ears. I would just laugh and laugh.

Now that she's gone, I look at this warm drink, and I cannot help but smile as I remember the old memories. And then the uncontrollable laughter begins...

What about you? What's your take on HoCho? Stupid word or cleaver abbreviation?
