Wow that’s so cool! Thank you all guys!
I had and have so much fun producing and posting these images.
Happy Holidays to all my followers. Some of you it has been many years and I wanted to take this time to express my gratitude to you all. Thank you for inspiring and making me a better photographer over the last 12 years here on Flickr. It's Flickr that first plugged me into the photography community and has introduced me to some wonderful people. As social media goes, Flickr is my foundation and I'm forever grateful for the introductions, friendships and inspiration over the years. With that said, thank you Flickr.
This image was taken this past weekend with Michael Ryan on the Mendocino Coast. Mike reached out to me back in 2012 via Flickr and the rest is history. Mike now is one of my best friends and we have been on countless road trips chasing light. We both have been in a creative slump for a while and have been fighting to regain the passion. This past weekend was a great start. I believe 2022 is gonna be a fantastic year!
Providing protect power for the Reading Ramble trip on this Saturday were the same two 'Fast Freight' painted units I saw leading NRFF on Thursday.
RBMN 5018 and 5019 (both rebuilt SD50-2s acquired from CSXT and Jan. 1983 and Mar. 1984 as Seaboard System 8507 and 8550 respectively) are drifting through the new interlocking at Jim Thorpe Junction (MP 120.9 on the Reading and Northern''s Lehigh Division Mainline) following the huge steam special into town.
They will tie on to the rear down at the Mauch Chunk Depot to assist with turning the train set after the nearly 800 passengers have been unloaded. The duo will pull the 19 cars and two steam locomotives north out of town and over the old CNJ bridge and then the whole thing will reverse direction to cross the new bridge spinning the train.

Finally! My deep dream has come true, after 3 years on flickr.
Thank you, every single one of you, my dear followers! I feel great because of your feedback, compliments, critique and opinions, always. This is a milestone to my building career, I can already say that.
Here's a small build because of that ocasion, which contains some of my favourite minifigs. I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks all again! And have a nice day! :D

Happy New Year to all my friends and followers on Flickr. I thought I'd kick off 2023 with the striking eye contact with this close male Sparrowhawk. Adult male Sparrowhawks are bluish on the back but barred orange underneath. And like most birds of prey, the males are smaller than the females. Males weigh about 150g with females 260g. The more actively predatorial a species is, the bigger the size difference, so the difference is less marked in carrion feeders like Red Kites (Males 1000g, Females 1200g). So male Sparrowhawks are about 40% smaller than females, whereas in Red Kite males are just 17% smaller. In Sparrowhawks males and females tend to take different prey, with males usually taking small birds up to Blackbird size, whereas females will regularly tackle birds larger than themselves, such as Woodpigeons. Though of course this isn't a hard and fast rule, but it means that male and female Sparrowhawks are not competitors when they occupy the same wood for nesting. The reason why females are always the larger raptors is thought to be due to egg production and carrying extra weight. The larger the body size, the less the impact for birds that need to actively pursue prey.
The scientific name of Sparrowhawk is Accipiter nisus is quite an interesting mix of the pragmatic and the poetic. Accipiter means grasper (although the original meaning of the verb accipitere meant to grasp mentally rather than physically. So understand rather than seize.). Nisus was a Greek King who was turned into a hawk after his city was betrayed by his own daughter. His daughter Scylla was turned into a lark, condemned forever to fly in fear from her own father. The English name Sparrowhawk goes back through Middle English (Sperhauk) even to Old English (Spearhafoc), pre 1066.

Finnaly, we got 200 000 followers!
Thanks so much for all of you!
To this "big day" we passed a very long way, and I am very happy, that it has finally happened.
Now loading up to million :)))
Well damn. That's like, 20 times how many fingers I have!
Back when I hit 190 followers or so, a thought crossed my mind that I should do something more special when I hit 200, like host a contest or do a face reveal or something, but always postponed the plan, thinking that it's not going to happen any time soon, considering how inactive I have been lately.
But, well, here we are.
This quick build will have to suffice for now, maybe I'll even host a small contest or something later when I'm inspired. Or when I get to 300, haha.
Thank you, keep building and stay awesome!
I've been on Flickr for almost five years now, and never thought I'd see this day come so quickly. I've met so many people along the way and seen so many good builders go. The amount of great people I have met in the last two years alone is outstanding, and I want to thank all of them for being bros. From the community and all its exceptional builders, I believe my skill has grown as well, as seen in the progression of the pics. I compiled together my favorite builds of mine. From my very first build (that beautiful little winter thing) in the top left, to the X-Wing or Wildcat, I've been striving to improve the quality of posts I put out. With Brickfair just around the corner, I can't wait to show what me and some buddies have been working on for about 10 months now, St. Mere Eglise. It's our most ambitious project and I can't wait to share it with you.
Overall, I just want to thank you guys for the overwhelming support recently and helping my stream grow through criticism and discussion. You guys are the best. Goodnight.
If you're added it's because I consider you a good friend or inspiration, in most cases both.
-Tobias
