As you all probably know, I am not a particular follower of Hallowe'en. It's an American tradition, and I am British, so it's a bit of a foreign concept to someone who never grew up with it. I prefer to celebrate All Saints Day. However, with children running around in costume outside, and my Flickr feed filling with fun and colourful Hallowe'en images, I thought I would add my own small contribution to Hallowe'en 2023: no sweets, but certainly a rather frightening enchantress with a trick or two up her sleeve no doubt!
The Enchantress knows where to find the very best magical blue capped, red spotted mushrooms and toadstools for her spells in the dark forest, with the assistance of her sharp red eyed grey wolf, whose nose can sniff them out from a mile away.
Playmobil is a line of toys produced by the Brandstätter Group, headquartered in Zirndorf, Germany. Production began in 1974. Playmobil began to be sold worldwide in 1975, and by 2009, approximately 2.2 billion Playmobil figures had been sold. The signature Playmobil toy is a 7.5 cm tall human figure with a particular smiling face. A wide range of accessories, buildings and vehicles, as well as many sorts of animals, are also part of the Playmobil line. Playmobil toys are produced in themed series of sets as well as individual special figures and playsets. New products and product lines developed by a 50-strong development team are introduced frequently, and older sets are discontinued. Promotional and one-off products are sometimes produced in very limited quantities. These practices have helped give rise to a sizeable community of collectors. This tableau features the much sought after Playmobil witch 3838 released in 1995, whom I have shown off a number of times previously.

So actually I've already 105 followers by the time of now, but still. Thank you all for 100 followers! I appriciate it so much! The support on Flickr has been amazing. I probably will do a contest, but since there are a few contests going on right now I'll wait with that (I also need to come up with an idea for it). So, it doesn't feel like it was all that long ago that I started doing all of this. July? Something like that. Anyways, I had no idea what I was doing, but I'm pretty convinced that sucking at something is the first step to being kind of okay at something. Now, here we are, a few months later, and I still don't know what I'm doing, but there's a whole lot more of you watching me do it!

The sun rises over Laos, casting its first light across the Mekong River at That Phanom District. The coolness of early morning gently gives way to warmth as the sky shifts from deep orange to soft gold. In the quiet glow, a nun sits in stillness, staring at the sunrise, reciting her morning chants with her palms together. A few steps below, the nun's followers wait patiently for their breakfast. It is a tender moment, peaceful, unhurried, and a gentle way to begin my day.
