The Moon, Jupiter and Aldebaran. Aldebaran is the faint dot to the right of Jupiter. You may have to zoom in to see it. It's the brightest star in the constellation Tarus. The name Aldebaran comes from the Arabic word al-dabarān, which means "the Follower". It is a binary star made up of a red giant and a red dwarf. Taken with a Canon FD 24mm f2.8 at f4 adapted to my Sony A7RIII.
It only took me two years, but I finally made it.
It's been an incredible journey getting from this to this, and I never could have gotten to the point that I'm at without the encouragement and support that you all have provided. I wish there was something I could do that's unique as a thank you, but I don't know what I'd do because I'm about as talented as a penguin, so I'm just going to say thank you one last time.
THANK YOU!
Today I looked at my account on flickr mobile (which is rare), and found out that I have 800 people calling me a contact! It means so much, and it's great that so many people have witnessed my shitty builds from the beginning get to where I am today. Over the past four years, I've made some really good friends and seen a lot of builders come and go, and I'd just like to say thanks. Couldn't get a pic that I liked tonight, so enjoy this old one.

Flowing up the hillside the precious berries you buy from Santa Maria, Ca must be protected by plastic from the evil elements.

Ta'er Monastery, Xining, China.
As the religious activity center of both monks and followers of the Yellow Hat Sect (also named Gelugpa Sect, a branch of Tibetan Buddhism), the Ta'er Monastery (Kumbum Monastery) is located in Huangzhong County, Qinghai Province, 25 kilometers (about 16 miles) away from the capital city of Qinghai Province - Xining. In order to commemorate Tsong Khapa (1357-1419), founder of the Yellow Hat Sect, the Ta'er Monastery was built in 1577 more than 150 years after his death. Now it is considered a sacred place in China.
In the Tibetan language, Ta'er Monastery is called 'gongben', which means '10,000 figures of Buddha'. During its long 400 years of history, it has gradually become a place of interest for its distinct ethnic color and native style. The whole area covers more than 144 thousand square meters (about 36 acres) with mountains surrounding it. It has 9,300 rooms and 52 halls. Just judging from these figures, you can imagine what a splendid place it is. The Ta'er Monastery is a group of fine buildings in a combination of both the Han and Tibetan styles of architecture on the mountain slopes. It has lofty temples and halls rising one upon another. The palace buildings, Buddhist halls, sleeping quarters, as well as the courtyards echo each other and thus enhance the beauty of the whole area.

The Rajabai Tower is a clock tower in South Mumbai, India. It is located in the confines of the Fort campus of the University of Mumbai. The tower stands at a height of 85 m (280 ft). Coordinates: 18°55′46.71″N, 72°49′47.95″E.
The Rajabai tower was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, an English architect. It was modelled on Big Ben, the clock tower of the UK houses of Parliament in London.
The foundation stone was laid on March 1, 1869 and construction was completed in November 1878. The total cost of construction came to Rs. 2 lakhs (Rs. 200,000), a princely sum in those days. This entire cost was defrayed by Premchand Roychand, a prosperous broker who founded the Bombay Stock Exchange on the condition that the tower be named after his mother Rajabai.
Premchand Roychand's mother was blind and as a staunch follower of Jain religion she was supposed to consume her dinner before evening. The evening bell of the tower helped her to know the time without anyone's help.
The Bombay Stock Exchange Limited or BSE is the oldest stock exchange in Asia. It is also the biggest stock exchange in the world in terms of listed companies with 4,800 listed companies as of August 2007. It is located at Dalal Street, Mumbai, India.
