Folklore bulgare à Sofia, pour l'ouverture du Congrès sur les routes historiques,.Tradition bulgare. La fête populaire Koukeri (Кукери) est une des plus anciennes célébrations rituelles et festives parvenue à nos jours depuis l'Antiquité, bien avant que les Bulgares ne s'installent sur la Péninsule des Balkans et fondent leur état. En effet, il s'agit d'une ancien rituel des Thraces relayé jusqu'à aujourd'hui. Les hommes revêtent d'épaisses fourrures de chèvre (ou mouton), portent un masque horrifiant et agitent une ceinture de cloches de bétail qui produit un son tonitruant.

Sunday market adorned with silk embroidery, handicrafts, and souvenirs, church bells calling for the mass, locals dressed in their Sunday best slowly heading to the church… just part of the scene full of village rituals and serenity. A joyful celebration of life takes place in the church square after the mass. Dressed in dark skirts/trousers with crispy white starched shirts, red belts embroidered in gold silk, bright red leather shoes and matching red caps, locals perform songs and dances form the village and the region. A chance to browse the market for some authentic local souvenirs and enjoy rhythms of Dalmatian music.
