I tri-folded a half sheet of 12" x 12" cardstock to make a stand-up display of some cross stitch photos from my Mexican Costumes series. Jan. 2014.

I held a series of three sessions at KPF NY demonstrating severals ways to transform a flat single sheet of paper into a complex form. I demonstrated folds that used both standard origami techniques (square paper, no cutting) and more modern approaches (laser-cut and -scored curves). The square forms date back to the Bauhaus movement and I was inspired by the work I did for Erik and Marty Demaine when choosing the shapes of the curved forms. Special thanks also to Alex Soijka who helped with the video.

いつもサドルバッグの中に入れているUNIQLOの

1000円ウィンドブレーカーを輪行袋代わりに用いてる図。

急な雨での応急処置だから、これで間に合わせたものの、

本来、電車に乗せる際は「専用の袋」を用いて、

タイヤやチェーンが他の乗客に接触して汚れないように

配慮しなければならないので、これじゃぁダメ。

もう少し大きなタイヤまで隠れる袋を探してこなきゃ。

An accordeon fold triangle book

The booklet measures appr 4 x 8 ". There are 2 accordeon folds on the spine in which I attached 2 sections.

The cover of the booklet is made of Tyvek. Tyvek looks like paper but is in fact a synthetic material. It is very strong and difficult to tear. It's easy to write or stamp on, even easy to cut. I was able to make crisp folds as well.

I stamped on the cover with Distress Ink.

After being a waiter for 10+ years you pick up on some nifty napkin folds.

Folded by me from one uncut 15 cm sheet of duo-kami. Diagrams can be found in the book "Origami Art".
