A sunny Saturday afternoon and I was inside DNA Lounge with an 11 and a 12 year old watching Fog City Wrestling. I think that counts as a cultural event. They were beside themselves, three hours of consequence free swearing. I think the mildest chant they joined the crowd on was "Toss his salad." Ah, the all age event...

Thick fog through trees on Mt. Thom, Chilliwack.

Fog at dusk in winter. Sterling Heights, Michigan. February 7th, 2019.

Note to those who care: that's a 1.6 second exposure hand-held ;-)

The freezing fog in Bend created thorny-looking ice spikes on all of the plants. Though the ice looks sharp, it is entirely delicate and falls away like powder if you touch it.

I find foggy landscape photos to be a bit mysterious and dynamic, probably one of my favorite conditions to shoot in. Angular trees and branches work especially well in the diffused lighting, where shapes are boiled down to their "essences".

The fogger in operation, about 15 seconds after power on. I ordered a "float" with the fogger, which apparently was designed for a fogger of much larger size. This float is much too large to use in my setup, and also places the fogger 5mm too close to the surface of the water, so I'm going to have to build my own float to replace it.
