My local expert suggested the species name.

After a day of extreme heat, a few storm it was nice to get into the (cooler) breeze and try out qdslrdashboard. Might be a handy tool.

This is the very thin "style" of a Fuchsia flower, the part of the female reproductive structure between the stigma (tip) and ovary. It dangles longer than the nearby male parts.

Up close and personal with my Corvette Stingray, finished in that glorious metallic gold as favoured by the 1969 Apollo astronauts.

This was a focus stack of 10 or 12 images, processed in Canon DPP4 and shot on a Canon RP with a 35mm RF macro lens.

The model is the 1/18th scale die-cast model 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray by Norev.

Just playing with some focus-stacked macro shots of plants and flowers here. Incredible amounts of detail in some these - if nothing else, it was fun experimenting bit with these and my home-made backgrounds and window light.

This is my pet rock, Trey the Trilobite. I purchased Trey at the Princess Sodalite Mine in Bancroft a few years ago. He swam in Ordovican seas about 400 million years ago and was excavated in present day Morocco not too many years ago before being exported to Canada, and purchased by me. This is a marvel to me.

Grey day, focus stack practice.

Most are3 to 5 images stacks.

A field of sunflowers in black and white, shot in early morning.

Three beautiful strawberries, which barely have any flavor and must be "disguised" by adding different components such as juices, cream, liqueurs...

Of course, the play of colors is beautiful.

Photo taken in Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid, Spain, using the focus shift method and post production with the focus stacking method.

TRES HERMOSAS FRESAS, 2024

A 10 shot focus stacked still life of a carnation using a Nikon D500 and a Sigma 105 macro lens

I tried focus stacking for the first time using auto align and auto blend in PS. How did I do? Not perfect I know but much better than a single macro shot at this angle.

This is from last month and the Naked Ladies are about all faded by now.

The first bud unfurling on our Grevillea. Soon to be planted in our garden to provide a natural source of food for the native birds that visit our backyard.

My first ever stack with the Canon MP-E lens was made in the summer of 2012: the subject was a beautiful Lasiopa sp. soldier fly. I was so excited that I've used an f9.0 aperture instead of the intended f5.6 (user error of course)... :D :-)

Tiny mushroom on a branch, focus stacking

I've found this moulting sawfly larva 2 mornings ago in my farewell session of 2014 field macro stacking. It had a very intense green color, I've not altered it in post-processing.
