On Sunday, I briefly wandered into the forest to check whether any slime molds had already appeared. I didn’t find any, but I did manage to discover these tiny micro fungi instead. Sometimes you simply overlook such small details because they are so tiny (around 1–2 mm in size) that they seem nothing special at first glance. But all it takes is a closer look, and once again you’re left amazed.

Apparently the surrounding vegetation has gotten taller and the Hedge Nettle seems less concentrated. Gradual changes! The ground is boggy so there is no access other than along the roadway where I was.
These are exceptionally small flowers which grow in a clump of flowers. I cut one out and focus-stacked 40 images to make this image.

This has to be one of the coolest veggies around - not only does it look amazing, but it's also delicious roasted in a hot oven. Eleven images, stacked in Helicon.

Because these flowers usually hang so low and face downward, some of us don't look at them closely. I noticed afterwards that this flower is at the stage where the stigmas (the 3 red, pollen receiving parts at center of flower) are still intact. Nearly all the other flowers in this area were past that stage.

I love collecting shells at the beach - picked this tiny one up at Nudgee Beach yesterday. It was half buried in water so I've tried to replication how I found it in a stacked macro image.
