I just bought my Sigma 18-250 f/3.5-6.3 OS last week... I heard and found in some lenses reviews that most Sigma lenses problem is the back and front focusing... I guess i got lucky and have the perfect one here...

In the wild kingdom the very lives of the inhabitants relies on their ability to focus when stalking their prey. This Green Heron is dialed in as he spots an aquatic meal near the surface of the water in a wetland pond.

WHAT IS FOCUS STACKING ? ( WITH BLACK ANT ) ?

Focus stacking combines multiple images focused on a different spot to make a resulting image with a greater depth of field than any of the individual source images.

It’s a technique designed to overcome the limits of depth of field, in other words, when the camera’s setup can’t handle its depth of field capabilities.

Buona giornata

“Focused Intensity”. It’s hard to imagine a situation more intense than a predator stalking prey. This is a shot of an Osprey I took at California’s San Elijo Lagoon. The raptor was hovering 60 feet above an inlet preparing for a strike. I loved the intense stare and the outstretched leg and talons. I used a black and white presentation so as not to distract the viewer from the nuances of the head, wing and leg positions with colors.

So, since I approach Flickr from a right to left point of view, we will show the original unadulterated image first (previous image), followed by the software manipulation. Got kind of miffed at all the tricks the flowers played on me and definitely did not feel like going outside contending with the snow and cool temperatures. How long has it been since I played chess? Way too many years. Decided to take a shot at the neglected game and then after looking at the outcome which was not too bad and I kind of could have let go as an artistic shot, decided to try my hand at focus stacking because I had recently seen some great examples of that by some of you. Now, how to do that when all you have is PSE? Well, you look for plug-ins and there is, as it turns out, a really great one out there by the name of ElementsXXL. It’s not free but they allow you to use it for 14 days before you have to pay up. Right up my alley. So, really what took the longest here is finding the appropriate plug-in and the fact that I had to repeat my series of shots because I missed two in the first series. The result is based on a series of 8 shots one each for the appropriate focus on each pawn and piece behind pawn. How will I apply this newfound knowledge to bird shooting? I have absolutely no idea but am pretty sure that I will eventually figure it out once I …

These gulls are the most common and plentiful in numbers here in Australia - so I set myself the task of trying to portray one in a unique way.

Looking back, my only regret is adding a copyright signature as it can be distracting.

The ears are flying around while the bright eyes are fully focused on the flying treat. The gray-black mouth of my 10-year-old Labrador mix is wide open to catch the treat in flight. You can see the joy on his face as he skillfully catches his reward out of the air.

It exists, this connection between humans and animals. In my opinion, you can see it perfectly in this picture.

It's a snapshot of the joy that comes from the sharing of play and affection between animal and human.

The picture was taken in my own small studio with super sync flash.

If you like it, I would really appreciate a like, a comment or a message.
