"Crimson Cascade," my intention was to create a visceral and emotionally charged exploration of containment, rupture, and the dramatic beauty of fluid in motion. This piece delves into themes of hidden depths and the unsettling elegance of a liquid descent. The central focus is a vibrant, rich crimson liquid, appearing to pour or spill from an unseen source at the top of a curved, reflective surface, its descent caught in a moment of dynamic flow.
The abstract, almost industrial background is dominated by curved, reflective forms and deep shadows, suggesting a confined space or a massive container. acrylic on canvas, fluid art using the dip technique, I added the paint to the canvas and then put another canvas on top and ended up with 2 paintings. I was pleasantly surprised with the result and it reminded me of a peacock with pretty feathers.
