Portrait of a red-crowned amazon fluffing up its feather

These little fluffs were a custom order :)

This Northern Mockingbird perched front and center with fluffed-up feathers and an intense stare, giving off a bold and confident vibe.

I photographed this bird in my Arkansas yard where mockingbirds are active, vocal, and often quite photogenic. The rounded shape created by its puffed-up plumage gives this image a unique presence.

Northern Mockingbirds are known for their mimicry and assertive behavior, often defending feeding areas or nesting spots with loud calls and dramatic flights.

Great egret fluffing the feathers after dispatching a catfish for dinner. San Pedro River National Conservation Area, AZ. The last light of the day was hitting the egret, which made for a very high contrast between it and the mostly dark pond around it.

Fluffer's been to the vets to get (7!) her bad teeth extracted and get chipped. She's got a little bandage on her leg.
