I only sporadically get a flu shot, but this being 2020, I'm taking no chances. I went with the "Senior" version that includes vaccines for four strains rather than three with the standard version. Still to go this winter, shots for Shingles and COVID-19 when available. For someone who dosen't have a proud history of needles, this winter is especially memorable.

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. - Debbie Law, with the 55th Medical Operations Squadron, holds a H1N1 flu mist nasal container during a Point of Distribution exercise Jan. 21 in the community center. Approximately 800 Offutt active-duty personnel processed through the center to test the 55th Wing’s ability to respond to a public health emergency. Many received their H1N1 inoculation during the event.

Since Monday we've both had what I call flu and most of my time has been spent indoors at home. Today I spent the whole morning in this room lying on the sofa, but it was a good place to lie because the sun was streaming in, giving the room a healthy light and lots of rainbows from the various crystals in the window. I was mostly asleep but it was lovely to see when I opened my eyes!

Yesterday I was also on the sofa, binge-watching the first 4 episodes of Top of the Lake. The TV is hidden under that cloth. I don't watch a lot of TV and this is definitely my first experience of binge watching! I thought it was OK when ill but don't understand how people have time otherwise!

Senior Flu Clinic held at Family Services on October 21, 2011. Seniors received blood pressure checks, and diabetes and cholesterol screenings from Southern Maryland Hospital. The event was sponsored by MedStar Visiting Nurse Association, and included health seminars related to senior health issues. Topics included: the importance of flu vaccines, proper hand washing, strength enhancement, fall prevention information, and medication management.
