DB Cargo Class 66051 "Maritime Intermodal Four" working 4L45 1004 Wakefield Europort - Felixstowe FLT,approaching Doncaster on 28/09/2019

Last taxed in March 2008 and last MoT test expired in April 2008.

Yesterday (Monday May 2) at the Farmer's Loop West Transfer site.

It just so happens there was a front page article in our paper today on the same subject. It said among other things, "[Fairbanks] Residents dumped a total of 163.7 tons of refuse at the borough's transfer stations on Sunday."

What an incredible burden we have become to our planet. I was particularly taken with the Native American inspired imagery painted on the dumpster.

A beautiful summer's day (!!) sees 90128 powering north with an FLT working. I assume the service was destined for Felixstowe because I saw this loco about an hour later stabled on Ipswich stabling point, a diesel loco presumably having taken the train to its destination.

90128 has today (Jan 22) reverted to her original number of 90028 and is in the employ of DBS. She can be seen just about anywhere on the WCML painted in her DBS red livery.

86612 and 86605 head 4M87 11.13 Felixstowe North FLT - Trafford Park FLT alongside the Oxford Canal at Ansty (north of Rugby). Many of the containers on this train seemed to be observing social distancing rules!

With Freightliner having just acquired thirteen class 90s from Greater Anglia, the use of pairs of class 86s was expected to cease very soon.

45055 looks ready to leave from Beeston freightliner terminal with 4S86 to Coatbridge.

Beeston FLT closed in the cuts to FL facilities in 1987, though the yard remains in use as the loading point for prefabricated modular S&C installations, which are loaded onto the tilting IFA wagons.

Some of you may know the Fairbanks area transfer sites include a covered "reuse/recycle" platform, yet many useful items are still deposited in the dumpsters. But daily people pick through the dumpsters looking for somethings or another, and some of these people place items they find that they cannot use themselves, items that are in good condition, they place them on or outside of the dumpsters as shown here. They do this not for themselves but for others. Typically the people who do this are of simple means, or "poor", yet they have a compassion and an ethic that goes beyond those who treat our resources and goods with disregard and abandon.
