SET 1 – Searcy Kroger Closing
You might notice that my interior photos are sized differently than normal – typically, all my pictures are 100% widescreen, but for this store, I adjusted to the more traditional 4:3 ratio. The subject of this photo is the very reason for that decision: these floors are original to the store’s superstore décor!! I promised you that the exterior wasn’t the only old thing about this store, even if the interior had technically been remodeled. Turns out, the walls were all touched, but the floors were left fully intact, meaning we get to see these super-cool, very-70s faux-brick inlays in the floor. In order to try and capture them in the frame as much as I could, I adjusted the photo size. We will discuss these in much further detail as the tour continues, but I’m curious if y’all are able to see something interesting about the color of the flooring here (especially in tandem with the previous photo)…

Esso nacque per interesse di Manfredi di Maletta, parente dell'imperatore Federico I, che edificò su uno sperone roccioso un castello, di cui ancora si conservano i ruderi. Il piccolo borgo fu abbandonato e decadde. L'attuale agglomerato urbano, è frutto della ricostruzione avviata nel 1440, ad opera del principe Spadafora.Ogni anno, nel mese di giugno, Maletto diventa la città delle fragole, richiamando centinaia di turisti e di visitatori. Nel corso della Sagra, le maestranze locali realizzano una gigantesca torta alla fragola di oltre mille chili, che viene offerta a tutti i partecipanti. Durante la manifestazione vengono esposti in appositi stand le fragole in piantine e in cassette e sono offerte come assaggio gratuito ai visitatori. Il frutto matura tra i primi di maggio e la fine di giugno e nell'ambito della sagra sono esposti diversi tipi di fragole: la fragolina di pasticceria, la fragola "rifiorente", che matura da gennaio a dicembre, e la fragola tradizionale, dal sapore più dolce e dall'odore più profumato. La sagra dura tre giorni e si svolge di solito dal venerdì alla domenica.

Sul materiale estratto interveniva lo spaccapietre che ricavava lastre di pietra, infine lo scalpellino rifiniva il materiale. Uno degli usi prevalenti cui era destinata la pietra lavica era la pavimentazione delle strade urbane
