A papercut, handpainted in my favorite shade of blue.

It reminds me of old woodcuts.

Always photographically interesting stuff on the quayside, floats and nets...

Small floats were usually made of cork, but fishermen in places where cork was not available used other materials, like birch bark in Finland and Russia, as well as the pneumatophores of Sonneratia caseolaris in Southeast Asia.

These materials have now largely been replaced by plastic foam.

Glass floats were large glass balls for long oceanic nets, now substituted by hard plastic.

They are used not only to keep fishing nets afloat, but also for dropline and longline fishing.

Often larger floats have marker flags for easier spotting.

These looked to me like the sweets on a bracelet or necklace??? LOL

Thank you for all your words, time, comments and faves.

Very much appreciated. M, (*_*)

When the North Pacific Cannery was closed in 1968 everything was left laying exactly as it was on the day that it was closed, including all the nets, floats and a host of other things. Fascinating to step back into this time and imagine everyone getting the notice that it was closing and just walked away.

********************************

to get where im going , i need to know where to go.

i dont know when or how to start, its something i dont know.

for blind man to see would be a miracle, but why would he want to see what were doing with the planet, with society.

in my eyes if they have an image of the world in there head, its more beautiful in there.

you could fall in love over personality rather then looks, being who you are, is beautiful.

dont regret anything that you made you smile, if it made you happy, then why throw it all away?

if you want to do something, you should go out and do it. if you believe you can fly, then friggen go for it. find a way for you to fly. things can be hard, but nothing can be impossible. someday everyone will be happy. everyone will have completed there dream, wether its on this planet or the land after.

dont jump if your afraid of the fall,

you wont know what to expect, you may hit the ground.

just keep an open mind , listen to the sounds.

and remember, what goes up.. must come down.

It caught my eye because it looked suspended in mid-air ... and also because it's pink and I love a sweet pink and green colour combo.

Bad news comes, don't you worry even when it lands.

Good news will work its way to all them plans.

We both got fired on exactly the same day.

Well we'll float on, good news is on the way.

And we'll all float on OK. And we'll all float on OK.

And we'll all float on OK. And we'll all float on.

Alright already, we'll all float on.

No don't you worry. We'll all float on.

Alright, already. We'll all float on.

Alright, don't worry. We'll all float on.

Freshmen year is coming to a close and it's been a helluva year. At times, it felt like everything bad that could happen, did happen (Damn you Murphy). But no matter how dark it got, I just kept pushing towards the light and I've managed to Float On.

Polaroid Week Day 1 | Frame 1

The cocoon of travel envelops me. A protective layer that numbs and draws me inward.

But I see light, I see shadow and a small pocket of a beautiful simple story unfolds in front of me.

I reach into the front pocket of my work backpack where the Uncle Larry SX-70 sits, and I lean out, and the familiar "whuh-whirrr" spits out the frame.

I deftly snag it, and put it safely in the box in my backpack and feel the trip might be worth the anxiety. I hit play and @itspetergabriel 's new song "Road To Joy" starts...and I can't wait to wake up.

Today was a lot of fun. I was suppose to go to the beach, but we opted for a pool day instead. We spent the day in my back-yard, and it was great. I've never posted any pictures that I've taken with my Fujifilm instax 200, but i really liked these so i decided to post them. Maybe I'll scan/post some more later. Off to go pic up 2 rolls of film i just got developed! hopefully they come out goood!

P.S. last weekend I got a 24-inch imac and it looks so beautiful in my room. I love it sooo much! AND I GOT A PRO ACCOUNT TODAY! YAY! (:
