Float planes on dry land near Schwatka Lake in Whitehorse, Yukon.
I just had this film processed. It had been sitting on my shelf for a couple of years. I would have shot this roll in mid to late 2015, or early 2016. Unfortunately, in addition to temporarily misplacing the film, I also failed to record the camera I used. It was either my Nikon FM, or one of two Olympus OM-1 bodies. All three cameras were manufactured in the early to late 1970's.

There's a tea shop on Kensington Road in YYC. This pot hangs outside. It reminded me of Aladdin (the 60s cartoon version). That story is all about magic, so I employed some magic to make that tea pot float.
To get the feeling of Mardi Gras year-round, visit Mardi Gras World, the largest float designing and building facility in the world. Here more than 80 percent of the floats that journey down New Orleans' streets during the Carnival season are designed and built.
Begun in 1947 by float designer and builder Blaine Kern, Mardi Gras World provides visitors with the opportunity to don authentic Mardi Gras costumes and tour enormous warehouses filled with floats. The tour includes a short video and guide who is quite knowledgeable about Mardi Gras history and customs. And for a taste of Mardi Gras, king cake and piping hot New Orleans coffee are served.
During the tour, visitors learn about the many traditions surrounding Mardi Gras parades, balls and music, as well as the intricacies of float designing and building. Mardi Gras floats began rumbling down New Orleans streets in 1837 with mule-drawn carriages. Today the tradition continues with sophisticated mega-floats, which hold more than 200 masked riders and are lit with fiber optic cables and laser lights.

Japanese glass ball fishing float net
No swimming here. It's muck water, and with the boat harbor right behind me, it's absolutely shark city. Especially at dusk. I had a tad of a scare this evening when my glass ball started going out to sea and I HAD to go after it...

Little Did We Know ... Houses Float.
Except you'd think people in New Orleans, of all places, would be aware by now that they don't. A New Orleans person would probably be very interested in a floating house.
We watched an episode of a British television show called Grand Designs that featured somebody building a house next to a river the frequently floods. They essentially built the house as a barge that usually sat on dry ground, but floated up on pilings whenever the floods came. Maybe New Orleans should consider something like that.
This float is across from ours and is turning out really cute. A lot of the dino skin is covered in kumquat and lime halves.
