So you think your life is stressful?
The weekend is here and I have a chance to shake this lurgy... Teaching with half a voice has been an interesting experience! Also, I decided to invest in a 100-400mm Canon lens to up my game with regard to wildlife shots. Hoping to get out and use that at the weekend! For now, here's an iPhone shot of a foggy train station platform full of commuters filled with the hope of "Friday"!

We tend to celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied ad multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

This is my cast iron lamp post and it's a Day Burner! The lamp is fitted with Glenfield Station LMS white acrylic panels, The light fitting has 4, 11 watt compact fluorescent lamps fitted and gives out a nice white light. The Cast Iron Post was made by Wright's Foundry,Co.Ltd Leicester.

So... I'm in too minds. I want a little walk around camera for some street photography... I'm torn between the Olympus E-PL5 and the OM-D E-M5. Now the latter is far more expensive, but it looks super! The E-PL5 however comes with a free 17mm pancake lens.
Decisions! Can anyone add anything to the argument?

Pretty epic evening!
I took this trying to get a shot of some rain bokeh on my trusty iPhone. Ended up loving the fact that there was a reflection of me in the window. Literally putting myself into my photography ;)

I was testing these hashtags, I just noticed, they work well from the Flickr App…. I also use them and #FlickrSpelio on Google and Instagram… they work in the Description but not in the comments, when using a browser, but OK when using the App…

Went outside, sat on the edge of the sidewalk and took this while getting my oil changed....
I actually LIKE the new Flickr app for Android. The old one was a joke. It was good enough for some quick browsing, I guess, and perhaps a comment or fave here and there... But with the new app, I actually find myself enjoying the many photos on Flickr. Which makes me wonder, why did this update take sooooooo long. I wonder how many people already gave up Flickr because the wait was just too long....
Anyway, the next features I'd like to see are on the app and desktop are being able to participate in group threads and actually being able to keep updated on the threads on which I comment.

Snow hit. Four and a half hour journey home from work. Now relaxing with a Mojito! Tomorrow I chase icicles and travel *nowhere*!

Well, it's a start, and it's fun to play around with. But when I really need to interact on Flickr, the mobile website is way more useful. Waiting for updates and improvements. ;) (yes, I know it's been around for a while)
This was a beautiful sunset evening at the park.... shared with my dad.
On another note, I'm at some crossroads in my life right now. Life for me may take on some significant changes in the next few months. Nothing terrible, but still significant. The choices I make within the next few weeks may determine how life might be for years to come...... but then again, we all can say this.... right? :)
Have done a few cool photo shoots with some really cool people within the last few weeks. Hoping to share with you all soon.
Also, been thinking about changing my buddy icon (image)....
