One of the final images from a stunning wedding recently in Clumber Park, Notts, UK. Made this image using white long burn smoke grenades from a paint ball supplier. Two bombs burning here being waved low to the ground by my assistant.
Lighting was a simple two light setup with SB910, 1st just right of cam and second left of cam to create contrasts across the smoke, manual mode 1/400 second exposure, ISO 200, f2.8 24-70 @29mm. SL triggered with the ever faithful PW Mini and Flex.

Or just very tired? Saguaros in the Sonoran Desert routinely live 150-200 years, so a little weariness is perhaps to be expected.

Northern Class 769 'Flex' 769424 threads its way out of Southport approaching the long-closed station at Southport St Lukes working the 11.16 Southport to Alderley Edge service. Once an electrified section of railway (1904) to Churchtown and Crossens on the line to Preston was closed to traffic in September 1964. The live rails were kept in-situ until 1970 as far as Meols Cop for access to the electric car workshops situated in the middle of the triangular layout at Meols Cop.
Had the electrified section of the line to Crossens been retained, it would now be part of the Merseyrail Northern Line network.

My friends took me to see one of their spectacular treasures - Egeskov - a moated castle about 30km south of Odense.
View taken: 1st September 1968
Film: Ferrania Color 3M transparency.
Camera: Edixa-Mat Flex S
Scanner: Epson V800/Epson Scan software.
Egeskov was first mentioned in 1405. The castle structure was erected by Frands Brockenhuus in 1554.
Due to the troubles caused by the civil war known as the Count's Feud (Danish: Grevens fejde), general civil unrest, and a civil war introducing the Protestant Reformation, most Danish noblemen built their homes as fortifications. The castle is constructed on oaken piles and located in a small lake with a maximum depth of 5 metres (16 ft). Originally, the only access was by means of a drawbridge. According to legend, it took an entire forest of oak trees to build the foundation, hence the name Egeskov (oak forest).
The estate has belonged to the Bille-Brahe family since 1784, when they acquired it from descendants of the Brockenhuus family. In 1882 it was inherited by the counts Ahlefeldt-Laurvig-Bille, who still own it. Wikipedia.
A Legacy manual lens arrived in the form of an Auto Flex 55mm F/1.7. No manufacturer is indicated, but it looks very much like other Chinon labeled 55mm lenses I've seen. I cannot get over the special bokeh up close. I don't have another lens in my large collection that renders an image this way.
