I case you wonder what a fleet tug looked like. Here is one of our sister ships. It is 165 feet long, 65 feet wide, draws 20 some feet, and can tow an aircraft carrier (as long as the wind is blowing in the right direction).
They were all built in the early 40's and all sold to other countries in the late 70's. The Navy decided to have civilians contract to do the towing. That was why I left the Navy.
The comment about the wind is real. A ship has sail area from the wind pushing on what is above water. An aircraft carrier has so much sail area that the wind could out power the ship's engines. We once watched position reports of a sister ship heading home after 8 months away. It was going backwards. The wind was pushing tug and tow back away from home for a couple of days.

Just couldn't resist turning this photo into a sepia effect - seemed to suit the buildings. Plus love the 'end is nigh' sky that resulted. Very tabloid.

A closer look at the Fleet-Wing building in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Fleet-Wing was a brand of gasoline that was started by Ralph Spears in Wheeling, West Virginia in the early 1920s. The company has the dubious honor of introducing leaded gasoline to the market, damaging the brains of millions for decades. In 1928 Fleet-Wing was purchased by Sohio.
