Take here a large view!

I took the most recent Star Wars AAT and converted it into a ship. Not quite as impressive as the Green Battleship, but I think the Cruiser and Destroyers help make up the lack of flair.

Fleet consists of:

1 Battleship

1 Cruiser

3 Destroyers

4 Gunships

7 Heavy Fighters

5 Bombers

The Arcturan Alliance has rolled out their newest medium carrier. The Hoyt-class carrier houses two squadrons of Angon fighters and is outfitted with four point-defense turrets and a single deck-mounted howitzer, providing it with a limited unescorted strike capability. It is pictured here escorted by a Culverin-class gunship and two flights of fighters.

Just another fleet built for Lukas's Microspacewars rules, though despite having three friends over with fleets yesterday, we still haven't played a game.

We took a walk to the mail shopping centre and decided to stop for a spot of lunch before we came home - We stopped at the Fleet, a pub/restaurant across the road from the Guildhall (just right of this photo). Tim, JJ and I went for our usual drinks - you can see them lined up! The Fleet (the red brick building) is right at the heart of uni land and the prices are very good here. Super old buildings - the one ahead belongs to the university now but I remember it as the city library when I was a child.

From Wikipedia: the 'blue hour' comes from the French expression l'heure bleue, which refers to the period of twilight each morning and evening where there is neither full daylight nor complete darkness. The time is considered special because of the quality of the light at this time of day.

And now for a debut over two years in the making!

Micro Fleet!

Back between late 2013 and early 2014 I had nearly fallen out of Lego. Not wanting to abandon my longtime hobby, I challenged myself to come up with something where I could get both quality and quantity (especially quantity). I soon found myself inspired by Rumrunner's Micro Battlefield tanks and Bruce Lowell's Battleship, I decided to create a fleet of warships and support vessels in microscale. They first debuted at BrickFair Virginia 2014 where they were well received. They have subsequently gone on exhibition at BFVA 2015 and 2016 and have remained a big hit. Of course, I have greatly procrastinated on sharing them with you all, for two years...

Battleship / Battlecruiser

Escort Carrier

Merchant / Oiler / Landing Ship

Gunboat / Escort Vessel

Tug / Auxiliary Vessel

MTB / Landing Craft

These are all relatively easy to make, but the most important piece that limits construction for me personally is part number 47905. More ship classes are in the works (I've been struggling to come up with a destroyer design), and the goal is to eventually create a large diorama showcasing all of these. Water (trans-blue studs) has been hard to come by, so special thanks to Dan for donating so much of it back when these debuted in 2014. I'll share some sample dioramas I've had later today.

This little scene seemed to have a very painterly feel with the autumn colours reflecting on the water. I later reprimanded that errant goose at the back for turning the other way.

Here is my current fleet of *completed* GWR locos.

Left to right.

GWR king class

GWR City class

GWR Dean Goods class

GWR 2600 class (rebuild soon)

GWR 5101 class

GWR 9400 class

For those of you who have seen my work from the beginning, you may be wondering about my GWR 5700 and 1400 classes. Long story short, they are old models, made in LDD only, so lack of parts was a thing with those builds. Thinking of going ahead and trying to reverse engineer tracepierce2592 locos, but that will be a while off. For now, my main focus is finishing off the rest of my large steam engines on the list. Containing GWR, LMS, LNER, SR and BR standards.

Fishing fleet at rest. When you get to a fishing pier and the fishermen are still not there – you are early. Best time of the day. Sorry for not being much around but I'm working on the slide show. I will post to YouTube as soon as I have a draft. Unfortunately Flickr has that 90 sec limit. BTW do you remember all the screaming when Flickr allow video - very quite now :-) . I always liked slide shows and I wish that they would extend the time limit.

Ah .. the image – Steveston , once heart of fishing on the West Coast , now more like a fishing village. Very picaresque , especially at that time of the day.

I was walking along and thought to myself that something looked a bit unusual. Turns out a tree had blown down. It looked pretty much taken over by a vine of some sort. It's been crazy windy with Storm Brendan so I'm suprised I haven't seen more.

So much water too.
