my first Frankenstrat, bought new in 1986 -- this was my primary guitar until 2001.
pretty much the only things original left are the heel plate, neck bolts, body and jack plate.
electronics are EMG-SAs with an SPC mid-boost wired into the bridge pickup.
StewMac neck, Sperzel TrimLok machines and late-80s Kahler Pro flatmount trem.
this instrument made me decide that i will only get hard-tail/non-trem guitars from now on.
Prints are all mounted and ready for Wednesday. We've decided to just flat mount with double sided sticky tape as it is so much easier than using spray mount or cutting out the mount board. Wish me luck!
Looking down the Hope Arm of Lake Manapouri towards Flat Mount, which still has snow despite it being the peak of the summer. The views around Lake Manapouri were stunning, the Lake Clam but very windy as the wind started to get stronger and the clouds built up in the west, deep in the Fiordland. I spent most of the time up on deck of the boat getting the raw pure fresh air.
