About 15 miles south of Kalispell, Flathead Lake is the largest natural lake west of the Mississippi and one of my favorite places. This is another of my musings under the heading "what if I won the lottery".

Middle Fork Flathead River. The slight turquois color of the water is due to glacial till. 20 July, 2011.

Looking west thru the drizzly misty air from the east side across Flathead Lake. Home for vacation to NW Mt, heading out on a drive around Flathead Lake, maybe w/a detour. I asked if we could drive south on the east side so the sun would be behind/above us, and come back north on the west side later in the day w/the sun behind us there. Kathy understood - a true photographer's friend, understanding such convoluted logic ;))
