There aren't many days each year when there's so little wind that the sand dunes at the north end of Walney are reflected in the channel,but this afternoon it was almost a mirror image.

Looking across from How Tun Woods to the north end of Walney Island at high tide with hardly a breath of wind.

perfect peace - but for the red boat chugging-out the yachts: The only reason they actually moved!.

Cockenzie's in the background - next year it'll disappear.

A small boat heads down Walney Channel,leaving behind it an endless ripple on the still water.
