Invader's first invasion in the year 2023 took place outside Paris; Villeneuve-Saint-George. I took RER D about 20 kilometers from Gare du Nord to the Southeast of Île-de-France to encounter this beautiful big invader along the N6 on an elevator shaft to reach the Passerelle Villeneuve Triage.

One the biggest projects of Invader in the year 2006 in Paris was this PA_689. About 18 space invaders on a row. Estimated format: 18,5 meters wide, 16 centimeters high. Totally about 7300 mosaïque tiles used for this one.

Re-activated in early 2021 and flashed by me in the evening about 11 months later.

A second cryptopunk space invader landed in Paris. This time in the 18ème arrondissement in the quartier Goutte d'Or above the Olympic Café.

CryptoPunks is a non-fungible token (NFT) collection on the Ethereum blockchain. The project was launched in June 2017 by the Larva Labs studio, a two-person team consisting of Canadian software developers Matt Hall and John Watkinson. The experimental project was inspired by the London punk scenes, the cyberpunk movement, and electronic music artists Daft Punk. There are 10,000 unique CryptoPunks (6,039 male and 3,840 female), all of which are made digitally scarce through the use of blockchain technology. Each one was algorithmically generated through computer code and thus no two characters are exactly alike, with some traits being rarer than others.

The biggest space invader on planet Earth!

Place Igor Stravinsky can be considered the "trone" of street art. Two huge fresques, one of Jef Aerosol Chut! made in 2011 and the 'fresque' of Obey (Shephard Fairey) called « The futur is unwritten » and created within 48 hours in August 2019 go a welcome new one made by Invader in December 2019; PA_1432.

On Wednesday December 4, a new iconic alien from Invader came to invade Paris. So far, nothing very unusual, the French artist installs his works in the streets of the capital since 1996. However, this time, it is 447 tiles 9 m high by 7 m wide that constitute the monumental mosaic of the invader from elsewhere, the largest work of the Street Artist. Entitled PA_1432, in other words the 1432nd tiled work installed in Paris.

Not only all Amsterdammers have to wear a face mask to protect themselves and others for COVID-19. This Amsterdam statue also wears a mouth mask neatly. An unknown person climbed on the pedestal of De Stedemaagd to provide it with a mouth mask. The well-known statue at the entrance of the Vondelpark at the Max Euweplein is a personification of our city. Sitting on a chair, she invites people to enter the Vondelpark with her right hand. RBA_17 [40 points]

In the spring of 2017, 20 space invaders were placed in the Moroccan capital in four days (15/03/2017 to 18/03/2017), of which there are currently (* August 2025) 9 left. My score is 8/20 as we didn't know the location of RBA_14 during our hunt.

This RBA_17 is a space invader in an iconic location with Tour Hassan in the background. Tour Hassan is the minaret of an incomplete mosque in Rabat, Morocco. It was commissioned by Abu Yusuf Yaqub al-Mansur, the third caliph of the Almohad Caliphate, near the end of the 12th century. The tower was intended to be the largest minaret in the world, and the mosque, if completed, would have been the largest in the western Muslim world. When al-Mansur died in 1199, construction on the mosque stopped. The minaret was left standing at a height of 44 meters.

Mosaic art at ESA’s ESRIN Earth observation centre near Rome, Italy, placed under a mockup of Europe's launcher for small satellites Vega. French artist Invader is installing his art at ESA establishments around Europe and even on the International Space Station.

ESA has been monitoring Earth with its environmental satellites since the 1970s, keeping a constant watch over our planet by analysing satellite data to protect our environment.

The first space invader mosaic art was found by ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti during her mission on the International Space Station. She installed ‘Space2’ in Europe’s Columbus space laboratory. Since then, space-themed art has appeared at the European Astronaut Centre in Cologne, Germany, at our Redu Centre in Belgium, our space operations centre in Germany and ESA’s technical heart in the Netherlands, and it even took over our headquarters in Paris, France.

Download a free app by the artist to spot and collect Invader art at ESA establishments and all over the world. Gain points by taking pictures of the mosaics and compare your scores.

A re-activation of a space invader of which I have never seen the original. The original location is right at the other side of the street (PA_42 by Tofz4u). Sometimes it's better to have a good reactivation than one at the exact location. There is hope for a lot space invaders to be re-activated.

Andy is using FlashInvaders as well and while walking through Montmartre you can't miss this one. It was damaged for a long time but in 2016 it was restored.

This space invader is dedicated to the fact that in 1999 Invader and street artist ZEVS worked under the name @nonymous and made a film about their secret urban adventures. To celebrate the fact that this is 20 years ago a re-edition of that film was shown on December 7th in Cinema La Clef, haut-lieu de résistance culturele in the Rue Daubenton. This is number 3857 in the world.

RE-ACTIVATED April 2022

PA_126 [10 points]

This is a re-activated space invader in the 7ème arrondissement located on the Pont d'Iéna. The original was placed in 1998 but not long after removed by the authorities. Re-activated by Invader in 2008 for the reprint of his book "L'Invasion de Paris 1.0" because there was no proper photo in the first edition. And also this one did not last very long. But now it is part of the re-activation wave by the re-activasion team in Paris and PA_126 can be flashed and added to the FlashInvader galaries.

One the few new space invaders in the 16ème arrondissement of Paris. If you like the haute couture of Valentino combined with space invaders, this is the one!

Taken on an early morning in December, should come back for another shot in full sunlight in Spring.

Invader is going veggie in the last months of the year 2017. It started with PA_1318 and this one is located in the most vegetarian neighbourhood of Paris.

PA_1320 [20 points]

In the year 2017 Invader made a whole series of space invaders with the theme "vegan". Often located in the 9th and 10th arrondissements of Paris. I had just simply forgotten this one. Fortunately PA_1320 was still "active".

Other 10 space invaders with vegetables and fruit are PA_1318 through PA_1329 (except PA_1323).

PA_1320 was worldwide number 3579.
