I can't quite say that I like dancing, not myself not watching other people dance either... But can definitely say that flamenco is an exception…
It is very expressive, very impressive, and it greatly displays the Latin culture in an explosive way...

Flamenco in the hills of Andalucia southern Spain. We could see the dancers preparing by their silhouettes in the window of the old hotel nearby the Plaza. When they performed the air resonated to their stamping feet, I was captivated.

Los flamencos mayores son un género de aves neognatas de la familia Phoenicopteridae. Son aves que se distribuyen tanto por el hemisferio occidental como por el hemisferio oriental; existen dos especies en América y una en el Viejo Mundo. Tienen el cráneo desmognato holorrino, con dieciséis a veinte vértebras cervicales y pies anisodáctilos.

Sorry for the long absence from Flickr. George and I went on a rather long vacation to Puerto Rico and have picked up extra shifts at work since I've been back covering for sick co-workers.
I've never been to Puerto Rico before except during layovers on my way to other Caribbean destinations. I was blown away by some of the beaches there - like this one, Playa Flamenco, on the tiny island of Culebra just off the Northeast coast of Puerto Rico.
The timing of this vacation wasn't ideal because I was often worried about Jimmy (who, it turns out, is actually doing very well) but as I floated in the water at Flamenco Beach I focused on feeling the warm sun on my skin, appreciated the crystal clear water and white sand, blue skies... Truly, my idea of paradise.
