Young love is a flame; very pretty, often very hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. The love of the older and disciplined heart is as coals, deep-burning, unquenchable.

A bonfire for Guy Fawkes Night

Me encanta el fuego. Su falsa estabilidad. El echo que llegue por todas partes.

Amo sentarme y tener la cara delante de la chimenea mientras fumo un cigarro.

Y luego levantarme y sentir el "frío" natural en mi cara, como hubieran me hubieran echado una crema de menta en la cara.

El fuego en todas sus formas es fascinante.

Es un poco como el negro, combina con todo.

Es calor, armonía sin repeticiones, pasión, dolor, fuerza y perdición.

Y sol. Inmensa pelota de fuego caliente tirada al aire. Ponerse bajo el en el verano y sentir el calor que corta la piel y cambia su color. Hartarse de vez en cuando para bañarse un poco en el mar. Pero cerrar sus ojos y seguir viéndolo todo claro. Soñar de ojos abiertos.

Y la luna. Esa gigante pelota de fuego frío que aparece pocas veces al mes. Que nos ilumina la noche y que nunca es estática. Inspiración de poetas desde que el ser humano siente la necesidad de dar palabras a sensaciones y sentimientos.

Amo a ese calor incondicional que arde por necesidad propria de existir en una sola forma.

El incendio. Por cuanto mínimo sea.

Me gusta pensarlo cómo un amigo que puedo volver a encontrar cuando lo desee.

Fumando un cigarrillo, encendiendo una vela, cocinando un plato en una cocina a gas…

Por que le necesito por su calor y porque es como una relación que a pequeñas dosis puedes controlar sin problemas.

One of two images for the 24 hour challenge on the flickr group Mission 24, where the theme was "ORANGE."

I've had these holiday lights for a while, they are a string of neon lights that have two small plates in the bulbs so that they mimic the flickering of real flames. Great retro look to them, picked them up at Target several years ago.

Snapped with a Pentax K10D camera with the smc P-A 135mm F2.8 lens with a 21 mm Extension Tube to improve the close focus. PP with UFRaw and GIMP.
