"The aged Barbarian [ie: a member of the English upper classes] will, upon this, mumble to us his story how the battle of Waterloo was won in the playing-fields of Eton. Alas! disasters have been prepared in those playing-fields as well as victories; disasters due to inadequate mental training - to want of application, knowledge, intelligence, lucidity. " Mathew Arnold, school inspector , in an essay 'An Eton Boy’ (1881).
These flags are spreading love and wisdom.

The largest flag in Mexico City framed by a statue in front of the Auditorio Nacional, an entertainment centre in Chapultepec in Mexico City. Taken with the sharp Sigma 135mm art lens, I really have to make an effort to use the lens more!
Here is a blog I wrote about framing in photography

These military flags are, I believe, commemorative regimental flags. The places where the regiment had served have been embroidered onto the flags.
Visible on the first flag (from the Wiltshire Regiment) are many place names, including Mont Pincon and Anzio (World War Two battle sites), and Somme (World War One).

At the Wartime in the Vale 2025 event. Ashdown Camp, at Ashdown Farm, off Badsey Road, Evesham, Worcestershire, England, United Kingdom, on Sunday 22nd of June 2025.
About the photograph.
I dabble in vexillology, not really a serious interest, just a bit of passing interest in the study of flags.
I was attending a military vehicles re-enactment event when I saw this flag flying at one the camps, so I took a series of shots using high continuous frame rate mode.
This is the national flag of Australia.
It is a 1:2 proportion flag with a blue field, and the British Union Flag in the canton (the upper left side), with a large white star in the lower hoist quarter (lower left side), plus five small stars forming the Southern Cross constellation on the fly half (the right side of the flag).
Other way to describe the flag would be to say the Blue Ensign defaced with the Southern Cross on the fly half.
It was designed from 1901 onwards, and was adopted on 11th February 1903.
The large star is referred as the Commonwealth Star, while the five stars on the fly side, being the Southern Cross is because the constellation can be seen in the Southern Hemisphere.
About the event.
Wartime in the Vale is an annual re-enactment event, held at the former Second World War camp, next to the town of Evesham, during the summer. The event is organised by the Military Vehicle Trust – South Midlands Area.
The event is held during the weekend, and believed to have at least more than 500 military vehicles of various eras, but mostly of First and Second World Wars, on display as well as re-enactment events in the main arena, including blank firing of weapons. They even have a flypast over the area.
The Ashdown Camp is a 40 acres site, with some old WWII era buildings, mainly huts, located near the Ashdown Farm, just to the east of Evesham.
