Aloha Sundays... Sprints - Early 2008

Although I remember the pool light working when we viewed the house, it never has since we moved in. Changed the lightbulb, fuse, and rewired the deck connection (which was probably the real problem), and now it does!

Last week I was devastated to find that the plastic cover over my LCD had broken, and that the LCD glass itself was smashed. Things seemed pretty bleak, especially after finding out that the local camera shop sends all repairs out to Nikon, which takes at least 6 weeks and quite a bit of money.

Luckily, the LCD itself was not damaged, and after asking around for advice (both on the internet and among techie friends) I bought the glass and adhesive and fixed it myself for under $20.

And we all lived happily ever after, with heightened caution and a new LCD cover...

Fixed Gear weekend held in Tallinn 1.-3.7.2016. Organized by team VÄNT.

Al is a bit sloppy! I had to fix the sign at his furniture store in San Diego.

To the left is the helmet as it is. To the right is how it should have been.

Here's the problem... I built it like a "real" stormtrooper, where the face and back overlap.

The helmet this one was molded off of was built differently. The front and back should butt up to each other but not overlap.

The result was that the original here was squished front to back a lot.

The right is a quick and dirty photoshop edit to show how the same parts would have looked if assembled properly.

Two prints, the one on the right had loose timing belts. I tightened them up and replaced a bent threaded rod on the Z stage. The result is the print on the left.

tuesday night tricks

At home we have these down lights and I've been meaning to take a shot using them as the key light source.

I decided to include my fixie. I think its come out well.. I would like to reshoot with a tripod because at 800ISO quality isn't perfect.

Other than that I think it's quite interesting and looks cool.
