A leaded diode with similar specifications is substituted. I happened to have a 1N4148 in house. This is rated for the same continuous forward current (200mA), but is slightly deficient in it's peak current rating. A 28AWG wire was added since the pad DID peel off a little of the copper where the solder mask had been removed.
