Worked with Sean a couple times earlier this year. He insisted on skating this sidewalk sculpture. There was one that was shaped like a bike in front of a bike shop that he wanted to skate first. The owner hassled him and even parked his car right in front so he couldn't skate it. Even called the cops. A bit unnecessary. We took off and came back an hour or two later. We opted for the guitar that was in front of a winery. The timing was tricky to catch him at the very tip. Sean decided on a fishbrain (landed), and a Zero makio. He was close to that zero makio but the winery owner booted us because it was messing with his customers.

After 3 hours shovelling water and drying out the pool and due to fly home the same evening, Jeff started hitting line after line. This was the ender to one of them and also the end to my trip across the whole west coast of america with the band Esben and the Witch and Foals and then back to San Fran and LA to shoot some good old blading, circa 2010

We finished off the days shoot at a natural bankto ledge just outside of the city center. When we arrived both Alex and Laura got out and started skating it, a few clips were laced but it was this tweeked out Fishbrain that caught my eye.

Once the blading was over at the NL contest we all headed out into the city for some real blading. First spot was a perfect curved ledge that everybody got involved with. Dean was killing it and I picked a Fishy to capture out of the huge bag of tricks he laced.

What a day me and Zak had, the sun was out and the good time vibes were free flowing. Even with a late 2pm start to the day we still managed to rack up bag full of clips between us and I even got to shoot one of the tricks. Round the back of Shire Hall this high wall rail has never really got much attention..well that was untill now! Zak decimated this spot repeatedly so we could document it fully, more days skating like this please.

Unit Fish at a new spot a few weeks ago. Thanks to Brian Lindner for being my trigger finger.

This is the second and more dynamic angle I got of Dans fishbrain at orchard park in Cambridge by using my sigma 10mm fisheye to get close to the action. I lit the scene and freezed the action using two Canon 540EZ's with one to my far right at full power with a diffuser and one just next to me at 1/4th the power with a diffuser.

We met up with Smithy in Plymouth at the next planned spot but discovered it wasn't quite right for what Connaire had in mind. Still on the opposite side of the road was a near perfect ledge. Connaire went to work on it and this stupidly low rocket Fishbrain was the result. Although his foot is coverage most of his face I just couldn't let this shot not be seen.

After busting out a sweet sweaty on the bank to rail a Fishbrain was on the cards. It didn't take too long for Michael to lace the trick perfectly and for us to move on to the next spot.

A very sunny Sunday up in Norwich began at this old 70's bowl with my company in the shape of the Dirt Box boys, Sam Currie and Anthony Zinonos. The day turned out to be on of the most relaxed and fun shoots I've had for a long time but was so much more productive than any before it. The bowl of which must be norwich's most random spot as well as one close to Sam's heart' was visited in the hope of getting a nice shot for an upcoming Dirt Box poster that will come with any sale of the Klatic frames they have done a collaboration with.

Day four started early as few of us had decided to stop waisting our time with hangovers and being lazy. We all headed straight over to Parallel and after me and Brett got a line of his clipped we head over to the ledge where a session had started to kick off. I set up my lighting with the idea of capturing any one as I love the architectural and visual strength of the spot, it just so happens it was Francys Ally-oop Fishbrain that complimented the scene the best.

Even with one sick trick in the bag Dan didn't seem happy enough with his efforts and as so began to size up the next. After a few tentative attempts he made the call for a zero spin Allyoop fishbrain so I quickly set up two canon 540EZ's off too the left at 1/2th power and change my angle and lens to give the viewer a more appreciative view of how insanely hard this trick was.

That rail is chest height. And Anthony manages to a cross grab fishbrain. There are some photos of him doing a sweatstance but my flash started to act up around then. Drat. Methinks I'm adding this to my Night sessions project.

I met up with Anthony, Jeremy, more of the LB crew, Lonnie, and Quinn which somehow ended up into a 15+ person session with people rolling in every which direction. It was an unexpected day at Tweedy.

The sun was out in force and Zak was freshly back from his holiday in spain, we both knew we had to get out for a skate. With a ONE article to be filming and shooting for we both strapped up the powerblades and headed out into the cambridgeshire sun for a catch up and to get productive. After a warm up at Jesus Green we headed over to the Mill Pond to shoot the first trick of Zak's which was this natural launch to Fishbrain.

The deadline for ONE #22 was now fast approaching and me and Quinny knew we wanted a few more shots for his piece in it. The last attempt at doing this proved although great fun, totally fruitless. So Scott made his way down to Bristol for a day of shooting. The first spot we hit that day was a playing park that has a pretty cool slide that was begging for a Fishy stall.

After the family shoot was done me and Matt slipped away to make the best of what was left of the day, Matt had some ideas brewing that lead us to the sunny shores of Hunstanton and this horrible bank thing. With no time wasted Matt got straight on it popping up the bank to get a feel for it, I think he underestimated just how awkward the bank was but after a while he smashed out a Fishbrain stall on the tiny lip.

Last spot of the day was the hefty kink rail. Yet again Aaron made really short work of this spot smashing out a Topsoul to warm up and then this perfect Fishbrain much to the delight of the ever growing crowd of locals that were gathering to watch.

Gabriel Hyden skating in Innsbruck...

The session ended up in Park street car park as I did have a planned shot of Luke and sure enough he produced the goods, this time a cross grabbed Fishbrain. Lit up with two Canon 540EZ's with diffusers, both set at 1/16 the power with one to the right and on to the left and captured with my Nikon 50mm.

The other week I was surprised by a phone call from Saffron Walden's ripper and good friend Dan Ives, this initial surprise was surpassed by the shock of learning he was now residing in Brighton and was coming back for a few days and wanted to skate n get some deal done. This was one of the shots I got of Dan having a session on the most awaked part of the park at Cambridge's Orchard Park skatepark. I shot this trick a few times but with this angle choosing a more unconventional angle through two fences while trying to frame him within the diamond box created by the closer one. I captured this with my Nikkor 50mm and lit with two Canon 540EZ's off to my right set at 1/2th power through diffusers. I've recently been looking into presets you can download for Lightroom and generally experimenting with the program, as a left over image from the shoot I choose to test out a preset I found called . After fiddling with the settings a little I settled with this for the final image.

Last night the Razors pro skate team came to my city, and i hooked up with them to shoot some ads. also shot their new rider profile pics for their site which ill upload soon.

Just flicking through Lightroom looking for some old shots and i came across this image of Cal I shot in Milton Beans. At the time I thought it was shit, turns out I might have been a bit massively wrong. All good a little play in Photoshop and I have my first ( and probably only ever ) Cal Baker deal on Flickr.
