ZAHS advanced band performs at Grandberry Mall

Zama American High School’s advanced band played for the first time in a local foreign national concert venue May 22 at Grandberry Mall.

Kevin Hanson, Zama American School band teacher, said he has been here nine years and they have been unable to find a venue off-base.

“For this performance opportunity, we had to send a video of the band to be asked/accepted to play,” said Hanson.

The symphonic band of 41 students played a variety of music to include some Disney movie themed music, Batman’s theme song and the Mission Impossible movie theme song.

Hanson said the mall manager was watching the crowd and everyone seemed to enjoy it.

“We were invited to come back anytime,” said Hanson.

This is 2 ounces of a merino/bamboo blend. The roving was purchased from www.missbabs.com via ebay.

This photo has a little mood lighting, so I'll take proper photos on a white background later, but doesn't it look nice? This is the same roving as before, but now it's dry and braided!

Apparently the hunting bug skipped a generation. My son has been so excited to go hunting with his grand father. (and no.. he saw many deer, but nothing with antlers)

The very first photo ever taken with my new Nikon D50. With my lenses in San Francisco, I resort to aluminum foil. Ten second exposure was clearly a bit optimistic.

They are so fast and she actually caught one on her own.

Just a little bit of something new!

Also known as the documentation of the first time I tasted kiwi...

Haha I was talking on the phone to my boyfriend (who lives a thousand miles away so that's the only way we communicate) and he was flabbergasted when I told him I had never eaten a kiwi. He suggested that I go to the grocery store immediately, and document it as my [365] shot of the day. So Richard, this one's for you :)

xoxo
