ZAHS advanced band performs at Grandberry Mall

Zama American High School’s advanced band played for the first time in a local foreign national concert venue May 22 at Grandberry Mall.

Kevin Hanson, Zama American School band teacher, said he has been here nine years and they have been unable to find a venue off-base.

“For this performance opportunity, we had to send a video of the band to be asked/accepted to play,” said Hanson.

The symphonic band of 41 students played a variety of music to include some Disney movie themed music, Batman’s theme song and the Mission Impossible movie theme song.

Hanson said the mall manager was watching the crowd and everyone seemed to enjoy it.

“We were invited to come back anytime,” said Hanson.

They are so fast and she actually caught one on her own.

Just a little bit of something new!

Also known as the documentation of the first time I tasted kiwi...

Haha I was talking on the phone to my boyfriend (who lives a thousand miles away so that's the only way we communicate) and he was flabbergasted when I told him I had never eaten a kiwi. He suggested that I go to the grocery store immediately, and document it as my [365] shot of the day. So Richard, this one's for you :)

xoxo

First attempt at pencil drawing on MS Paint. Dates back to mid-July 2014. Drawn in the first of three fits of passion...

Known as “The Island of the Gods”, this veritable tropical paradise has seen a steady flow of tourists from different parts of the globe. These visitors range from businessmen getting away from it all for a few days, to backpackers on a budget. Some are return visitors – say, on their 3rd trip or so. For others, it may well be their first trip to this lovely Indonesian locale. Fortunately, websites such as Bali Tourism Board can help make that first trip easier and less of a hassle. Day 117-I had hummus for the first time today and it was really good. Though I must say, it reminded me of refried beans. I mean, I guess that is technically what it is, a bean dip, just a different kind. Maybe my country boy Texan palette missed something.

Still it was good but I dunno if I'll be getting more.
