I went searching for the Liguus tree snail for the firsttime today. I did not have much hope for finding any. I was expecting to bitten by a Cotton Mouth first.

Lady Luck was on my side and I found two specimens. Both on Gumbo Limbo trees and both on the south facing side. I did not wander too far off the hiking path since the side paths are more like armadillo trails than paths.

The Florida Tree Snail is classified as a species of special concern (SSC) and is being watched closely.

Haha I zoomed fully (so 18x optical and 6x digital) onto a star and this is the outcome :)

Theres multi-coloured spots all over it! Whether thats the lense or the camera or who knows what, i dont know :)

6 dollars for as many minutes of pretend-your-car-is-a-submarine fun! Oh yeah, and a clean shine on the ol' Volvo.

Jer's face-up is finished! I actually don't know if it's finished yet, it's the first face-up I've ever done period but I do like it. Still needs some eyelashes and I'm going to experiment with a lip ring. :3
