Steve volunteered to help me with the first shot with my new camera. The flash went off automatically. I need to find out how to shut that off, but for now, this looks okay. It's going to be a long learning period, I think.
This is my first snap shot with my just-out-of-the-box Olympus E-30. May this new camera serve me as well as my Sony DSCR1!
My cat is wondering what's happening here. This is a picture from the night I got a 50mm lens and was having trouble with the AF.
This is from testing out a nifty fifty and a 270EX flash. I've since sold the flash because the pre-flashes scared everything to death - including my cat.
This little buddy just happens to be my one and only grandchild!
He is being so brave outside in that little bin. And what he's trying to do is prop his little body up inside. It was hilarious.

The Smithsonian Folklife Festival is an annual celebration of culture from various regions of the world. It typically attracts more than one million visitors each year. This year, the Festival featured three main programs: Campus and Community: Public and Land-grant Universities and the USDA at 150; Creativity and Crisis: Unfolding The AIDS Memorial Quilt; and Citified: Arts and Creativity East of the Anacostia River. Maryland 4-H members and FirstPic, Inc. volunteers demonstrated their science, engineering, and technology skills and abilities learned through 4-H robotics projects.
walking back from the missed fireworks, i was radomly clicking away with the camera and a slow shutter speed and was lucky enough to come out with this.
I just bought a Panasonic Lumix dmc fz50 as an upgrade to my fz20 which I loved. I have very bad eyesight and I have trouble shooting with my d70 because there's no lcd preview. Well, I think things are looking up ~ I took these zoomed in about 5x with one hand and my dogs' leashes (attached to them) in the other ~ my standard method of shooting! Can you just die? For those who don't know, I am one of the many who are mad about these creaturely plants. Yaaahoooo!'Fiddlehead Heaven' On Black
