Boh painted this for Kim and gave it to her for Mother's Day this year. She's getting along very well with her teacher and getting a lot of technical knowledge.
I'm going to have to play with the camera more; one of my favorite things about this painting is that the colors are very depe, very autumnal, and here they come across washed out. Also the canvas isn't REALLY curved on the sides... Hmmm. The full image is SO big, and the artifacting is always because it's near the edge of the lens, I bet if I pull back a little I can crop the middle of the image and keep the canvas looking straight. Worth a try... hey, pixels are free, right?
Any other suggestions welcome. I've had this camera for nine hours, one of which was spent at dinner, another of which was spent at the CD store with Boh, and three of which were spent at the Tournament of One Acts. So I haven't yet done anything but shoot in Auto. (I'm signed up for the Nikon seminar on Tuesday, I'll be sure to ask both questions there.)
