This shot has taken quite a while to process, and is quite a bit of an experiment, having upgraded to Adobe CS4 I thought that I would us this shot to try it out.

Firstly this is a 3xp handheld hdr, in low light conditions, the groyne was quite sharp and didn't need any enhancement but the sky was just off, so I applied a smart sharpen effect to just the sky and the result is quite pleasing.

On the whole CS4 is good, the jury is still out on whether the upgrade is worth it, plus a bit of a hinderance is the fact that it switches to Vista's basic scheme when run which is slightly annoying but could be down to lack of memory on my laptop.

Oh and by the way, this is Hornsea beach on England's East coast, It is a small seaside town that has seen better days, and is struggling against costal erosion which is a massive problem in this area.

Rumblemumbles started her job today working in Events and Sponsorship in Tourism and Industry Development.

It made me think of the evolution of her first days.

My advice to parents with small children is

1/ Always date photos (not so bad now with digital)

2/ Note situation information

3/ Note names for non-family members in shot. In 20 years you may not remember

4/ You CAN NEVER take too many photos of the children

The first 2 shots were on film and scanned and the quality is not good.
