It's actually quite neat how the opening in the sky is framing the fireman. It's a sign from above. Again with the electric blue!

The French 'Sapeurs Pompiers' have the coolest headgear..!

The fireman of Jubilee class 45690 Leander is seen hard at work. ISO was cranked up high for this , I have reduced the noise in photoshop best I can. Photo was taken from inside the tender of Leander, please note loco was stationary and photo taken with full knowledge of the crew.

The fire engine came with firemen. I thought this fellow rather splendid. Note the reflection of the Lerwick Library building in the very polished helmet. Lerwick Carnival, Shetland, 2025.

This sculpture was made by Mrs. Darlene Racicot from Canada to remind the died firemans at 11th september 2001. I'm sending it for call to mind them. (by Darlene Racicot, www.neverforget.ca/

Again today some of the fireman had practice on the old house so I had to get OUT of the house and went out and watched them practice for abit. Amazing what they do.

Fireman Nick Bredeen of the Durango and Silverton tends to his steed, K-36 # 481 as it glides downhill towards the home terminal of Durango Colorado in the winter of 2024. Today, all the D&SNG's locomotives are oil fired to prevent forest fires in the ever drying American Southwest.

I remember asking him to take his hat off and he duly obliged.

This is what you end up like when shovelling coal for a couple of hundred miles on a Steam Locomotive. Taken at Chester Station

Hardly any words........they all did their best the other night. No one was hurt and the doggie saved. No one was home except two dogs and the neighbors down the road seen smoke coming from the roof and called it in.

QJ's are unconventionally left-hand driven unlike most railroads here in the US.

The finished image with a little bit of layering and compositing of flames, charring, and smoke in photoshop.

"SO, HOW MUCH COAL DID A FIREMAN SHOVEL?

A locomotive's coal consumption varies greatly depending on factors like locomotive size, hauled load, and speed.

A 38 Class locomotive on the Newcastle Flyer could burn through 5 to 7 tons of coal on a single return trip between Sydney and Newcastle.

That's the equivalent of:

• 5 to 7 1-ton bags

• Shovelled by hand

• Over a few short hours at high speed!"

"FEEL LIKE GIVING IT A TRY? Grab a shovel and see what it was like to work on the footplate of a steam giant!"

This is my son, he was a fireman for Halloween. We wanted to honor those who serve as firemen.
