Spring is almost upon us but it seems some Autumnal colour is still hanging on in there! Shot with the Helios 44M.

Each year at this time the Sahara Sands move west across the warm
Atlantic Ocean and end up high in the atmosphere over South Florida.
It tends to make our sunsets more 'intense' and 'vivid' for a few weeks,
until the stronger tropical hurricane season wind moves it out for good.

i've been taking a lot of failed photos recently as i experiment with all the settings on my camera. Every now and then though, i get a shot that's not perfect but i like it anyhow.

Photography on the prairies in places that are eerie silent and quiet can send the pulse racing with possibilities, while other times diving one to solitude madness. When I walked up to this scene, I suddenly wished I packed a film camera across the Saskatchewan border, thinking nobody's going to believe this scenario coming from a digital sensor. At least the matches were waterproof, it's chilly out here.

Our children were at a friends birthday which gave my wife and I (plus cameras) a rare chance to spend time alone. We walked for an hour up Loch Etive and luckily arrived just as the sun lit the hillside across the loch
