Warm in his down sleeping bag, my oldest son Flynn sleeps in the tent under a vastly larger blanket of night and stars, Buffalo Peaks Wilderness, Colorado.
While the children were responsible (relatively), and went to bed at a reasonable hour, the same cannot be said for the 'adults.' The other two fathers of younger children, my mother, and I all stayed up around the fire and recounted stories and lies. This was aided by the gentle and intoxicating imbibement of Pappy van Platypus - truly the new standard-bearer in sipping ryes, named for the short aging process in your extra backpacking bladder.
While Pappy worked his magic, and my friend Jarrod stoked the fire with another stick, the crackle and flare-up happened to coincide with when my shutter was open for a Milky Way image. The result wasn't exactly planned, but I do think the image conveys the warm glow of the fire against the cool and impossibly distant stars.

Enchantress Calissa Outfit
A Little Lace, a Little Firelight, and One Very Opinionated Persian
I had intended to spend the evening quietly.
A glass of wine, the warmth of the fireplace, and perhaps a few pages from one of the old books stacked beside the hearth—that was the entire plan. But plans have a way of changing when the right outfit appears, especially when it arrives wrapped in blush-pink transparency, delicate ribbons and just enough mischief to make staying unnoticed completely impossible.
The moment I slipped into the Calissa Outfit by Enchantress, the room seemed to change with me.
Even the firelight became softer, catching along the sheer fabric and tracing every delicate edge as I stepped onto the rug. My Persian cat settled herself into the worn leather chair beside me, looking up at the framed Calissa illustration as though she had personally approved the styling. Judging by her expression, however, I suspect she believed the chair—and possibly the entire photoshoot—belonged to her.
🎀 The Calissa Outfit
Calissa is a flirtatious, lingerie-inspired ensemble that blends playful boudoir styling with the polished structure of a complete fashion look.
The sheer halter-style top frames the body with a softly daring neckline, while the coordinating necktie introduces an unexpectedly tailored detail. It is that contrast—the sweetness of translucent fabric against the formality of a tie—that gives Calissa its wonderfully provocative personality.
The abbreviated skirt falls lightly from the fitted waistband, creating movement without concealing the delicate braces and garter details beneath it. Soft bows circle the thighs, adding a romantic finishing touch that feels almost gift-wrapped.
The long lace-trimmed sleeves bring another layer of softness to the outfit. Their flowing shape balances the closely fitted top and gives every gesture a slightly theatrical quality. Standing beside the fireplace, I could not resist letting the sleeves catch the light whenever I moved.
👠 The Heels
The coordinating heels complete the Calissa silhouette with slender stiletto lines and delicate wraparound ribbons that climb gracefully along the calves.
They visually lengthen the legs while echoing the ribbons and garters above, creating a continuous design language from the thigh bows all the way to the toes. The effect is feminine, elegant and deliciously dramatic without feeling overly complicated.

Calissa is not an outfit designed for disappearing quietly into the background. It is made for warm rooms, lingering glances and those evenings when innocence and temptation decide to share the same glass of wine.
My Persian cat may have claimed the best chair, but wearing Calissa, I had absolutely no trouble claiming the rest of the room.

My favorite "sunrise in paradise" location on Key West. These palms are featured on Jimmy Buffett's A1A album, and the back cover is about 50 yards north of here. While he lived here this was a favorite spot of his and he wrote a few songs here. Have been attempting to get the best shot of these palms for many years. I'M STILL TRYING!

The bar was nearly empty — the kind of place where time lingered between shadows and smoke. A single man sat alone, his drink untouched, the amber reflection of the fire glinting off the rim of his glass. His name was "Vibes." And in that soft, wavering glow, I became the flame he couldn’t look away from.
The music began — slow, hypnotic, pulsing through the speakers like a heartbeat meant only for us. I stepped onto the large circular ottoman before the hearth, the velvet sinking beneath my knees as the heat kissed my skin. The air smelled faintly of bourbon and something sweet — like the prelude to a secret.
The Diams Mini by Oh! clung to me like molten silk, sculpting every curve in temptation’s image. Its sinuous surface shimmered with the PBR HUD’s reflections — light bending, fire breathing, his desire mirrored in every ripple of crimson gloss. It wasn’t fabric anymore; it was sensation — alive, responsive, a second skin made for sin.
I began to move, my hips tracing slow circles, each motion deliberate and teasing. The dress rode higher, the hem flirting with revelation. The Transparency HUD made it shimmer like smoke — sometimes solid, sometimes sheer — a game of illusion that let the imagination wander where the eyes could not.
He watched, unmoving, but I could feel his heartbeat in the silence between us. Our eyes met — then broke — then met again. I pretended not to notice, fingers toying absently with the edge of my garter, feeling lace against skin, silk against heat. When I glanced back, his composure faltered, his breath catching like a man drowning in something he wanted too much.
The music deepened, slowing to a close. I arched back into the final pose, the Diams Mini glowing one last time in the dying firelight. I took my Mad Scientist down to Docklands Firelight Festival last night with a visiting NZ friend. It was lovely to see the area with plenty of people, lights and performers. We had an early dinner at Cargo Restaurant beside the water and looked over the Bolte Bridge. Then wandered around the entertainment until time to go home. This is a mobile phone photo which was much easier to take around but doesn't quite get as good a photo as a fast lens and decent DSLR.
Yesterday was a cold and rainy day which fortunately held off for this festival. Though it was pouring rain when I got home.
