This is a typical pond sump in our area where the fire department draws water into their tanker trucks when there is a fire. You can see the pond in the background. No fire hydrants around here.

I've taken to going for evening strolls. As taken by my all round number one chum wade, see me during one of our pit stops... leaping off a fire hydrant on main street... for no apparent reason other than we wanted to take a photo.

Ubiquitous in every corner of America, this colourful example of a fire hydrant seems cheerfully welcoming.

Jen was very good to me this Christmas! She bought me a Voigtlander Brilliant box camera. I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do with it. It appears to be in good condition, but I'm not sure if it is operational as it is.

I'd love to be able to use it as a regular camera and not a TTV, as I already have two others that are good for that.

The thing is, I don't know of a good place in the Omaha area to process 120 film. Sigh.

I might have to learn how to develop my own film and get a scanner. I have a spot for a darkroom down in the basement.

That scares me.
